Jackie Chan returns in Police Story Lockdown

As summer gets busy, new releases are flooding theatres, flocking movie fans into cinemas with some great action and adventure movies lined up for release. In our start-of-the-week trailer roundup, we bring you two brilliant new releases that will bring you to the edge of your seats.

Police Story – Lockdown (June, 2015)

Jackie Chan is coming back with the martial arts movie of the year! In the re-release of the 2013 Chinese language action thriller “Jing cha gu shi”, Jackie Chan stars as Police Officer Zhong Wen supported by the antagonist played by Ye Liu. While the movie beholds routine Jackie Chan shenanigans & stunts, we will see a much more matured, composed and bulky Jackie Chan.

The movie will not really be the comical franchise as other Jackie Chan films. We can see from the trailer the serious action sequences plus the involvement of family (his daughter gets abducted), which will make it an amazing action packed adventure with cars blowing up, people fighting for their lives, buildings shattering and fire breathing villains.

In the Heart of the Sea (December, 2015)

Based on the rumored true story of Nathaniel Philbrick’s novel bearing the same name, the movie is directed by the man who brought us Cinderella Man, The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons, and Rush: Ron Howard. This is the true story of the sinking of the Whale Ship Essex, that also inspired the Moby Dick novel, stars Chris Hemsworth, Cillian Murphy and Brian Gleeson.

Amazing CGI sequences (especially the whale) and a brilliant cast promise an amazing movie. While most adults will rekindle the memories of one of their childhood epic stories, other demographics will experience the events behind the sinking of the Whaling ship and its crew.

We have high hopes for this true event adaptation and … well, another great performance by Hemsworth who will not have his hammer but a harpoon to kill the massive beast this time.

More on the way
