Best-Zombie-Movies-AU

Zombies! Who doesn’t love a good zombie movie? They’re incredible to watch and can make you laugh, cry, or jump up in fear. The best part about zombies is that they never die – we’ll always have new movies to watch for years and years to come. In this blog post, I’ve compiled the 30 Best Zombie Movies of All Time: A Fun and Interesting List for all those who crave zombie cinema like myself.

Dawn of the Dead (2004)

When Ana’s husband is assaulted by a zombified neighbor, she manages to flee but soon discovers that the entire city of Milwaukee has been overrun with the walking dead. After being questioned by cautious policeman Kenneth (Ving Rhames), Ana joins him and a small group that congregates at the local shopping mall as a refuge. The group binds together as they fight off the zombies and try to find a way out of their increasingly dire situation.

Dawn of the Dead is one of the best zombie movies because it’s so relatable. Of course, zombies have been around for decades, but this movie was made in 2004 – at a time when safe spaces were really being challenged by both terrorism and social media. Given those circumstances, it’s not hard to imagine people coming together and barricading themselves in a mall as they try to fight off the undead.

Little Monsters (2019)

Dave has decided to get over his recent breakup by seeking refuge in Felix, accompanying him on a school trip. He wants to be around one of the teachers- Miss Caroline – so they can become close again and maybe rekindle things with her when all is said and done. But everything seems normal, at least until zombies attack! New horror movie icon Lupita Nyong’o nails it, as usual, blending comedy into gore for an excellent blend between films that will keep you guessing what’s going to happen next.

Lupita Nyong’o has been on an incredible journey since her Academy Award-winning performance in 2013. She’s worked with superstars like Beyoncé and director Jordan Peele, but it seems that most people don’t know about the two horror films she starred in this year: Little Monsters (2019) and Us!

Awards season is always exciting for any actor because there might be another nomination coming their way; however, Lupitam Nyong’o found herself at home walking down red carpets again when accepting awards not only one but two different critically acclaimed parts -Little Monstersset against school violence and Us.

Zombieland (2009)

Jesse Eisenberg’s Columbus is an entirely different mold of a survivor in Zombieland. He doesn’t have any friends or family to rely on, so he has developed the ability to think quickly under pressure for himself – something many people don’t realize they are capable of until it becomes necessary!

Zombie films often turn out differently than you would expect given their setting; “Riverdance” proved this when our main character was shot but still managed not only escape uninjured with his life intact but also take down two zombies who happened upon them later that day during filming without being noticed by anyone else there at first glance.

The best zombie movies are the ones that give us survivors who have to fight for their lives against insurmountable odds. Zombieland shows how one man can turn into a badass just by being smart about his surroundings, which is something very different from any other film on this list!

Shaun of the Dead (2004)

Shaun (Simon Pegg) is a sad, uninteresting thirty-year-old man who lives with his slovenly best friend, Ed (Nick Frost), in a cramped flat on the outskirts of London. The only unpredictable factor in his life is his girlfriend, Liz (Kate Ashfield), who urges him to mature and become a man.

On a typically gloomy and ordinary day, their best friend, Pete (Peter Serafinowicz), comes over for drinks with his flatmate, David (Dylan Moran). The four hang out in the backyard, drinking, smoking cigarettes, and complaining about Liz. Simon Pegg’s character is such an everyman that it seems like anything can happen to him at any moment!

The best zombie movies always have a protagonist that you can root for. However, Shaun of the Dead just took it one step further by creating an incredibly relatable character who is still forced into extraordinary circumstances. In this case, those circumstances lead to some horror-comedy like  gold as he tries his best not only to survive zombies but also work on his relationship with Liz at the same time!

Night of the Living Dead (1968)

When the dead start to leave the graveyard in search of fresh human bodies to consume, a disparate group of people take refuge in an abandoned house. Ben (Duane Jones) does his best to resolve the situation, but when reanimated corpses surround the property, the other survivors begin to worry. When a group’s foundations begin to erode, the zombies search for entry points — and one by one, the living people become victims of the undead.

The best zombie movies are the ones that make us care about people before they’re turned into zombies themselves. Many films on this list will do just that by giving their protagonists a reason to fight back against an enemy, or at least something worth fighting for, so we can empathize with them more easily when they have to go up against insurmountable odds.

Night of the Living Dead does that best by creating a world where everyone is just trying to survive, which makes it even more terrifying when they’re not always able to do so! We watch as these people are picked off one by one until only Ben remains, giving us someone we can root for before he’s faced with his own mortality!
