The 38-year-old, Australian reality TV star and socialite Brynne Edelsten was arrested earlier this month on charges of possessing and trafficking ICE (Methamphetamine). The arrest was made during an ongoing planned raid on a Boronia property in the suburbs of southeastern Melbourne.During the raid, the police confiscated, magic mushrooms, methylamphetamine, Xanax, and other prescription drugs, along with a stolen electric bike. The property is suspected to be a hideaway to proceed with these crimes as a massive amount of cash was also recovered.As per Daily Mail Australia, Edelsten had been blindsided by this sting operation by the police as she was with a 39-year-old man at the property. The man was also charged by the police, having a long criminal history.The reality TV star was interrogated and released for a short time, however, after making further consideration the Victorian Police stated,
After further inquiries were made the woman was arrested and charged with traffic methyl-amphetamine, possess methyl-amphetamine, use methyl-amphetamine and deal property suspected proceeds of crime.
As for now Edelsten has been granted bail and has a hearing at the Ringwood Magistrates‘ Court on October 8th. News.com.au contacted the star for her comments regarding the case, she stated,
Earlier this month, I was charged with criminal charges, I am shocked and saddened by these events and will be vigorously fighting all charges. I am very thankful for the support of the team around me and will not be making any further comments.
The Herald Sun, was the first source to report that the 39-year-old man was charged for trafficking methyl-amphetamine, attempting to traffic alprazolam (Xanax), possession of methyl-amphetamine, possession of schedule 4 poison and deal property suspected proceeds of crime. He has been taken into police custody and will have a hearing in August at Ringwood Magistrates’ Court.
Earlier in 2015 too, Edelsten was accused of possessing an ecstasy tablet by the WA police. However, after brief appearance in the court police prosecutors informed the Magistrates Court the charge was being discontinued.
At that time Edelsten said that she does not advocate the use of drugs but just doesn’t do it herself. She also stated back then that she was relieved that the true story has come out and all the drama has now been left behind. She also said she has two younger sisters and wants to set a good example for them.
In 2004 the 38-year-old socialite filed for divorce from her 78-year-old millionaire husband after four years of marriage, claiming that he had been unfaithful and was obsessed with publicity. However, in 2016 she filed for bankruptcy for the unpaid legal fees resulting from her extremely messed up divorce case.
George Edelsten said that his ex-wife had a “battle on her hands” and that he had not been in contact with her for two years since the allegations were made against her.
