The Marvel Cinematic Universe and Marvel Studios are reigning the charts with the highest-grossing and box office. We still can’t forget the powerful Avengers: Endgame that had the whole world talk about a new future in the MCU.
It was a tribute to the successful Iron Man character, played by Robert Downey Jr., Captain America, played by Chris Evans, and Natasha Romanoff, played by Scarlett Johansson.
Marvel Studio, for the first 10-years, Kevin Feige ran the movies and the TV Shows were made by Marvel Television, run by Jeph Loeb. At that time, there was a lack of communication between the two so many fans saw distinct and different storylines pursued.
But with the rise of Disney+, whose parent company Disney owns Marvel, the plots started to converge. We saw the concept of “Extended Universe” come to life as TV shows and movies started to link.

Now, Marvel has announced that many of its upcoming features will release on Disney+ directly. Here, we’ll take you through the best of upcoming releases, followed by their release details, cast, and plotline that we’re aware of so far.
Currently, there are 12 new Marvel Studio series ready to premiere in the next few months and years. To make sure you don’t miss out and the timelines don’t confuse you, feel free to check out the timeline below.
After “Hawkeye” in December, the MCU is about to have the following features ready to carry the timeline further:
Moon Knight
Release Date: 30th March 2022
Cast: Oscar Isaac, Ethan Hawke, May Calamawy

The series revolves around Steven Grant who has bestowed the powers of an Egyptian moon god. Working days as a museum security guard, he is an insomniac and spends his nights with his newfound powers. Living two separate lives can be both a blessing and a curse to Steven.
Ms. Marvel
Release Date: 8th June 2022
Cast: Imam Vellani, Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh

Probably the most talked-about series of the year is Ms. Marvel which will debut a Pakistani American Marvel superhero. Kamala Khan, better known as Ms. Marvel, has shapeshifting abilities which lead her to become the crusader of justice. She will also appear in Captain Marvel 2.
She-Hulk
Release Date: Mid 2022
Cast: Tatiana Maslany, Mark Ruffalo, Tim Roth
No of Episodes: 10
Kevin Feige teased the fans by sharing that “Bruce Banner is no longer the only Hulk in the MCU.” Jennifer Walters, Bruce’s cousin, gains Hulk powers from a blood transfusion. The show was described as a half-hour legal comedy. And yes, Mark will obviously be featured in the series.
Secret Invasion

Cast: Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Kingsley Ben-Adir

This will be Marvel’s adaptation of one of its infamous comic arcs, Secret Invasion. We see the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D leader Nick Fury, Skrull Talos from Captain Marvel played by Ben Mendelson, and more. The writers plan on portraying the Skrulls as the good guys.
Agatha: House of Harkness

Cast: Kathryn Hahn

While there is very little known about this feature, we can confirm that Kathryn Hahn, who had her debut in the MCU WandaVision, is now getting a solo series. Agatha Harkness will have the head writer of WandaVision, Jac Schaeffer, leading the ensemble and the storyline.
Spider-Man: Freshman Year

An animated series is now in the works, as confirmed by Marvel’s upcoming blog posts. The storyline will feature the young Peter Parker in his high school days but encountering a different villain this time. The series will be written and produced by Jeff Trammel.
Echo

A new spinoff series is in the works featuring the character of Maya Lopez as Echo. The character has appeared in many other storylines, like in Spider-Man: No Way Home, Hawkeye, and more. It’s a possibility we get to see the Man Without Fear up against Echo.
X-Men ’97
Release Date: 2023
Cast: Cal Dodd, Lenore Zann, George Buza

Writers Eric and Julia Lewald and the direction of Larry Houston will bring the upcoming animated series X-Men ’97. After X-Men: The Animated Series plot end, it is said that this series will continue from that point on. With new voiceovers, directors, and producers, the series will be released in 2023.
I Am Groot

The beloved tree-like character, I Am Groot, is getting a short series featuring Baby Groot’s origin story. Not much has been confirmed, but the feature will have James Gunn as executive producer. No release details have been confirmed as of yet.
Ironheart

Back in 2020, the Disney+ series came into work based on Ironheart. It will feature the story of an engineer who was behind the creation of the strongest most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man. Dominique Thorne will play the lead who becomes a superhero wielding the armor.
Armor Wars

Don Cheadle has had his fair share in the MCU as a great help to the Avengers. We now get to see him take the center stage as James Rhodes in Armor Wars. He is now responsible to wear the war machine suit and protect his technology of Stark from falling into the wrong hands.
Marvel Zombies

The upcoming animated show expands on one of the characters of What If…?. The heroes of the MCU are up against the zombie apocalypse and must discover the cure. Last we know as Spider-Man, Black Panther, and others going to Wakanda for the cure. It’s not clear whether the series is a spin-off or will lead the storyline from What If…?
Untitled Wakanda Series

The Wakanda world has been a mystery to many, but this series will set the record straight. Ryan Coogler will serve as producer of the newest series around the Wakanda Kingdom and its origins. No release details have been confirmed for now.
Loki (Season 2)

There is little to no information about season 2 of Loki. But luckily, we have the season 1 finale’s credit scene which confirms Tom Hiddleston returning for the new season.
What If…? (Season 2)

This was Marvel’s first-ever new animated show based on the comic arc with the same title. We get to see MCU characters play out different scenarios and newer challenges. The series gained great commercial success so season 2 was inevitable at this point. We urge you to check out MCU on Disney+ before these titles hit the screens.
Disney Plus is about to get a huge subscriber base over the next few months because of such amazing releases.
