Heart. Beats. Fast. Colors and promises! How can one not sing along with this song whenever someone mentions the Twilight movie series. It’s been nearly a decade since the last Twilight movie made a formal appearance on the silver screen.
And now the Vampire and wolf packs are back on Netflix, as all the Twilight movies are now readily streaming on Netflix with all the necessary subtitles and audios. It seems unreal that even after all these years, the legacy of Twilight is afresh, just like its characters, it too is beautifully immortal. And no lying here, we tune into the series from time to time to keep the memory fresh.
The best part is that you can find all Twilight movies on Netflix, and if you are confused about the order, we have got that covered for you as well!
What is the Best Order to Watch Twilight Movies
The Twilight movies are otherwise easy to track in terms of the year they were released, and if you are a Twilight stan like us, then you would know all about it beforehand because of all the countless hours we have spent in our lifetime worshipping all the novels and learning all about the non-existent Vampire and Werewolves history like it actually means something.
But if you are a newbie here, and are willing to dive into the Vampire mania, then this may sound a bit confusing as to which movie comes first. But also the fact that the final book Twilight: Breaking Dawn is divided into 2 movies. Not only is this the best way to conclude a legendary series, but it gives the story room to breathe and develops as the events and lives of all the characters reach a conclusion.
With that, let’s dive in and find out about all Twilight movies in order and see which movie should be seen first, and what you should be expecting from them.
Twilight Movies Explained
Starting off fresh with the first novel, and the very first movie of the franchise, Twilight was released back in 2008 and as the hype from the novels had already been there, the movie quickly rose in ranks and became an instant hit amongst its peers. Despite its obvious flaws and acting blunders, the awkward encounter of Edward and Bella was well-loved and left everyone asking for more after the “unconventional” Vampire and their chic lifestyle attracted the lot. And did we mention the long-haired Taylor Lautner, yeah, that happened as well.
The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009)
As soon as the success story of Twilight got out, the making of the sequel began immediately, this time more mature and well brewed, unlike Twilight. New Moon set a different tone in terms of mood, direction, and storytelling. We’ll add a spoiler here, this one wasn’t the perfect vampire love story as you thought it would be, after Edward’s departure and Bella’s near manic episodes. This is where the “New Moon” aka a now fully developed werewolf Jacob becomes the light of the screen, with his love and affection for Bella, in time when she needed it the most. Also, Volturi entered the chat, and we must say, a 10/10 on how well that all went.
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010)
Now that things were finally evolving, story and direction-wise; expectations rose with each sequel. Not only did we get to see epic character development, but it felt like the whole novel has come alive, straight out of the pages. With Eclipse came the proposal we were all waiting for and the destruction of Victoria and Laurant, once and for all. After Eclipse, another short novel was written and branched out by Stephenie Meyer, “The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner,” based on the character that made a short appearance at the end of the battle.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1 (2011)
Everyone loves weddings, especially when it is Edward and Bella’s. The final installment of the teen vampire love story was broken down into two parts, which did absolute justice and perfectly recorded the pre-Renesmee life of Edward and Bella before she became an immortal. But we have to admit, we fell in love with the cinematography and the settings immediately, not to forget the honeymoon on an island in Brazil, a cherry on top.
The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 (2012)
Despite it being an extension of the same storyline, people still had to wait a whole year to endure the goodness of Breaking Dawn Part 2. The best film from the Twilight franchise; the most underrated thing about it is its background score and cinematography that still remains a work of art.
Bella is finally a vampire and a mother. Her transition from a near-dead corpse to a ‘newborn’ is nothing but fascinating. She is not her clumsy self anymore and has turned out to be a strong and independent mother figure who would do anything to protect her family, oh and did we mention she has powers? Now that would be an interesting watch.
