As Netflix improvises its functions and features, the older devices will not be able to keep up with these advancements. Netflix announced that certain Smart TVs cannot be updated to Netflix’s latest app version. This definitely has left viewers furious!
Samsung announced that it would no longer be able to provide support for certain Smart TV apps by 1ST December. The company explained that many of its older Smart TV are not built to support the latest features introduced by Netflix.

So the updates not only affect Samsung TVs but many of the other older Smart TVs as well. However the good part is that you don’t need a new Television, you can opt for many of the stand-alone streaming services available in the market to watch Netflix on your TV such as:
- Amazon Fire TV
- Apple TV
These options start from $40 to $120 and feature many apps such as Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and HBO Now. Now all you have to do is plug in the device into your TVs HDMI port and start watching!
Disclaimer: These streaming platforms operate in specific regions only, therefore, you might have to connect to a VPN service to get the best of these services. So if your Amazon Prime VPN is not working consider going for a credible service like ExpressVPN.
Another great and cheap workaround is that you can use Google Chromecast, the device connects to your HDMI port and you can cast videos from your phone or computer. This basically acts as a projector, casting videos from your device to the Television.
Despite the simple workaround, users are really angry that they will have to employ other devices or pay for other streaming services. Avid binge-watcher heads to Twitter taking his frustration to the world:

As Apple TV+ launched recently and Disney+ is also just about to launch, it is expected that these platforms will need more sophisticated devices and more Smart TVs will become outdated.
