The 2022 Oscar Performance Lineup Confirms Beyonce’s “Be Alive” and Billie Eilish’s “No Time to Die”

The Oscar buzz is getting louder as they reveal the finishing touches of the film’s greatest night. This year, we get to see stars like Will Smith, Timothee Chalamet, Bradley Cooper, Kenneth Branagh, Kristen Stewart, Nicole Kidman, etc. “The Power of The Dog” takes the top lead with 12 nominations, followed by “Belfast,” “Dune,” “King Richard,” and “West Side Story.”

Beyonce’s “Be Alive” performance, alongside many confirmed this year, will blow up the Oscar stage on Sunday 27th March 2022. Joining also is Billie Eilish’s “No Time to Die” soundtrack performance featuring her brother Phineas O’Connell. This song makes Billie Eilish the youngest artist to write and record a James Bond theme.

Already holding a Grammy award 2022 for best song, it is now on its way to the Oscars as a nominee for Best Original Song. We will get to see the sibling duo in action live in this year’s Oscar Awards 2022.

Reba McEntire will also take the Oscar stage with her nominated score “Somehow You Do” from Four Good Days. Her first release in nearly 2 years makes it to the big stage and she expressed her gratitude with this tweet:

This news came as a surprise amongst the ones that were snubbed!

The Oscar-nominated animated feature Encanto’s original score “Dos Oruguitas” is also up in the performance lineup. The Colombian singer-songwriter Sebastian Yatra is set to take the stage with her performance this Sunday 27th March 2022.

The telecast producers, Will Packer and Shayla Cowan, made the lineup announcements on Friday. which is listed as follows:

  • “Be Alive” from King Richard – Performance by Beyoncé (written by DIXSON and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter)
  • “Dos Oruguitas” from Encanto – Performed by Sebastián Yatra (written by Lin-Manuel Miranda)
  • “Down To Joy” from Belfast (written by Van Morrison)
  • “No Time To Die” from No Time to Die – Performed by Billie Eilish and FINNEAS (written by Billie Eilish and Finneas O’Connell)
  • “Somehow You Do” from Four Good Days – Performed by Reba McEntire (written by Diane Warren)

They also shared about Van Morrison’s absence from performance of “Down to Joy” from the nominated feature “Belfast.” Also nominated this year, but not performing, is Hans Zimmer for his Original Score for Dune but he is also on tour with his own show and will be in Amsterdam during the Oscar ceremony.

A tribute performance to The Godfather and James Bond is announced under “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” performance as both franchises celebrate their anniversaries.

DJ D-Nice (real name Derrick Jones), who amassed popularity through their virtual club events, will perform sets during the telecast and at the Academy’s official post-Oscars party.

Beyonce’s “Be Alive” performance will be telecasted via Satellite from the tennis court in Compton. Her performance is based on the movie “King Richard” which revolves around the life of Richard Willaims, the father of famed tennis players Venus and Serena Williams.

This setting fits well to the tennis court venue and we’re all anticipating queen B’s powerful performance at this year’s Oscars.

On the other hand, we’ve seen “No Time To Die” bag many accolades like the BAFTA for Best Editing, and the SAG award for Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture.

The song has even won a Critics Choice Award and a CIC award for Best Original Song, alongside multiple Grammy nominations. If the song wins Best Original Score at the Oscars, it’d make Billie Eilish the youngest Oscar winner, alongside being the youngest artist to write and sing a James Bond song.

The voting for the 94th Oscars ended on 22nd March at 5 p.m. PT. Now we’re all set to witness the award show on Sunday 27th March 2022. It will stream live on the ABC channel and various other regional broadcasters so are sure to check your local listings.
