Jamie Spears, Britney’s father, had been the conservator of Spears’ estate and personal assets for the last 13 years. However, on September 29, 2021, Jamie’s was suspended from the conservatorship by Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny.

Moving forward, on November 1, 2021, Britney’s father moved to the court requesting an immediate termination of the conservatorship. His attorney Alex Weingarten stated that Jamie believes: “Britney’s recent testimony and requests to take personal control of her estate and affairs have made clear that continuing the Conservatorship is contrary to her desires.”

Henceforth, “Jamie sees no reason why the Conservatorship should continue for any amount of time and asserts he has no interest in the Conservatorship continuing.”

The pop icon, who will be celebrating her birthday on December 2, 2021, also thanked her attorney, Mathew Rosengart, in particular. She stated: “I’m so happy my lawyer Mathew Rosengart came into my life when he did … he has truly turned my life around,” she further said: “I’m forever thankful for that !!!!”

Spears also showed her gratitude to her fans who celebrated outside of the L.A. court as the ruling came: “What a sight seeing so many people celebrating my victory …. I love my fans so much … so thank you  !!!!

Spears also expressed her delight on Twitter and Instagram, stating: “Good God I love my fans so much it’s crazy !!! I think I’m gonna cry the rest of the day !!!!” She added: “Best day ever … praise the Lord … can I get an Amen ???? #FreedBritney.”

The pop icon concluded her celebration post, mentioning Hailey Baldwin, who dressed up as Britney Spears for Halloween.

She stated: “She was me for Halloween … I think I won brownie points with my kids 🤭 !!!! But seriously though … how freaking cool is that ????”

As per the information given to PEOPLE, the singer had “the best day of her life.”

“She was crying and laughing at the same time,” the source claimed. “It was hard for her to understand that it’s over after so many years.”

The next court hearing is scheduled for January 19, 2021, to sort out pending financial and other remaining matters. On Friday, Rosengart commented outside the courtroom: “What’s next for Britney — and this is the first time that this can be said for about a decade — is up to one person: Britney.”
