The “Aquaman” star had previously accused Depp of domestic violence and as we know, he sued Amber Heard for intending and causing defamation, claiming damages of around $50 million. In return, Johnny Depp was countersued for $100 Million By Amber Heard.

The jury awarded Heard $2 million in compensatory damages for her counterclaim. Despite the fact that the jury agreed with Depp’s verdict, the jury found that Depp defamed Heard to some level.

“The times HAVE CHANGED!!” Says Johnny Depp’s friend Bobby London. Johnny signed a statement to fans and the press after winning his defamation case against ex-wife Amber Heard.

London posted a video of Depp sitting at a table, writing his statement in red pen, to Instagram. The video was filmed and posted around 3:25 p.m., only minutes after the court gave out the seven-member jury’s unanimous verdict. Johnny Depp signed his name to Bob Dylan’s song ‘The Times They Are A-Changin’ after he was found not guilty of sexual assault by reason of lewd and lascivious acts against Amber Heard and Johnny Depp in Los Angeles on Thursday.

The video was posted with the lyrics “For the loser will be later to win, ‘Cause the times they are a-changin…”

“In real-time… the times HAVE CHANGED!! Humble thanks to all who stand up for themselves and the truth,” Bobby London captioned the post and added the hashtags “justice for Johnny Depp and abuse has no gender.”

Johnny celebrated his victory and thanked all of his supporters for their support in a statement posted to his Instagram account.

“Six years ago, my life, the life of my children, the lives of those closest to me, and also, the lives of the people who for many, many years have supported and believed in me were forever changed,” Depp began. “All in the blink of an eye.”

He continued, “False, very serious and criminal allegations were levied at me via the media, which triggered an endless barrage of hateful content, although no charges were ever brought against me. It had already traveled around the world twice within a nanosecond and it had a seismic impact on my life and my career.”

“And six years later, the jury gave me my life back. I am truly humbled,” Depp added.

Stating his reason to pursue the case, he said that he feels at peace knowing that he was able to speak and reveal his truth — not just for himself, but for his children, Lily-Rose and Jack.

“From the very beginning, the goal of bringing this case was to reveal the truth, regardless of the outcome. Speaking the truth was something that I owed to my children and to all those who have remained steadfast in their support of me. I feel at peace knowing I have finally accomplished that.”

Depp finished off the lengthy statement with the Latin phrase, “The best is yet to come.” and signed off by saying the Latin phrase veritas numquam perit,” which translates to “truth never perishes.”

As per  Entertainment Tonight, Depp’s lawyers, Camille Vasquez and Benjamin Chew made statements following the verdict. Vasquez stated,  “This verdict has confirmed what we have said from the beginning, that the claims against Johnny are defamatory and unsupportive of any evidence. We are grateful, so grateful, to the jury for their careful deliberation, to the judge, to the court staff, who have devoted an enormous amount of time and resources to this case.”

According to a quote by Chew, “Our judicial system is predicated upon each and everyone having his or her case heard and we were honored, truly honored, to assist Mr Depp in ensuring that his case was fairly considered throughout the trial. We are also most pleased the trial has resonated for so many people in the public who value truth and justice. Now that the jury has reached its conclusive verdict, it’s time to turn the page and look to the future.”

Depp also expressed his gratitude for his fans’ affection and support, as well as his hope that his quest for the truth will be fruitful.

I am, and have been, overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and colossal support and kindness from around the world. I hope that my quest to have the truth be told will have helped others, men or women, who have found themselves in my situation, and that those supporting them never give up. I also hope that the the position will now return to innocent until proven guilty, both within the courts and in the media.”

In the letter, Depp also thanked the jurors, the court staff, and the Sheriffs for their selfless efforts throughout the case, as well as his tenacious and unshakable legal team, for their tireless efforts in assisting Depp in his journey to share the truth.
