Unfortunately, the 9th installment of The Fast and the Furious had to be delayed to April 2021, due to the sudden outbreak of the Covid-19. While the franchise has glided towards something it was never intended to, such as working with the authorities to defying all laws of physics as Dwayne Johnson literally bringing down a helicopter with his own hands. Despite all this we, the fans still love and anxiously wait for the release of every part of the Fast and the Furious Franchise.
While primarily the film was focused on street racing and did also bring up the trend of people modifying their vehicles after Tokyo drift, the storyline expanded much turning it from a race movie to more of an action-packed one. We see a car flying from the top floor of a skyscraper and landing to another. It’s also a question how these fragile supercars could take so much impact. But its a movie, so we have to keep logic aside.
And now it’s rumored that Dom will be taking his car to space, as the film’s production was stopped, this rumor was leaked out and also confirmed by Michelle Rodriguez, “Oh, no way! How did you guys find that out? Damn! See what happens? People start talking behind the scenes, man,” Rodriguez said in the interview, which you can find lower down the page. “When a movie doesn’t come out and forget about it, things get out. Nobody was supposed to know that.”
She further added, “Oh, well, no, I’m not lucky enough to hit space, but we did get a female writer and showed a lot of love, I think, on this one. Thanks to director Justin Lin. We were able to find a little bit more attention and love for the girls in the movie. And so I’m really hopeful that shows through in the final product.”
Another hint that indicates Dom’s space travel is the Rocket Engine powered car showed in the latest trailer.
Here’s the official trailer, have a look and WAIT (tears rolling down my cheeks) till April 2021 to find out what exactly it is that Dom goes to space for!
