George Clooney & Julia Roberts Re-unite for “Ticket To Paradise”

Ticket to Paradise, a romantic comedy directed by Ol Parker, who previously directed Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, will star George Clooney and Julia Roberts.

Clooney and Roberts are going to play a divorced couple traveling to Bali to keep their daughter from making a mistake they made 25 years ago. In Jodie Foster’s Money Monster and in the Ocean’s Eleven movie franchise, the pair previously starred together.

The script for Ticket to Paradise was written by Parker and Daniel Pipski, and, alongside Sarah Harvey and Deborah Balderstone, Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner of Working Title will produce. Clooney and Grant Heslov’s Smokehouse Pictures will produce alongside Roberts, Lisa Gillan, and Marisa Yeres Gill of Red Om Films.

Clooney and Roberts are represented by CAA, while Parker is represented by UTA, Knight Hall Agency Ltd. and Management 360. represent Parker.

Working Title’s Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner will deliver alongside Sarah Harvey and Deborah Balderstone. Alongside Roberts and her teammates from Red Om Films, Lisa Gillan, and Marisa Yeres Gill, Clooney and his Smokehouse Pictures partner Grant Heslov will produce.

This deal is important to those who wonder when, because of the volatility of the theatrical industry, film studios can avoid selling expensive star packages to streamers and once again step up to significant projects that can operate in theaters. According to sources  Streamers immediately circled this idea as it came together quickly via Working Title, But the top brass from Universal said, no, we’re in the theatrical movie market.
