What could be more iconic than Jennifer Lopez’s live performance! The music sensation performed at American Music Awards 2021 and stole the show.
The Marry Me actress gave a memorable ending to the 2021 AMA event on Sunday, November 21 with a stellar performance. All eyes were on J.Lo at the Microsoft Theatre in LA while she debuted her new single On my Way, live.
Lopez appeared on the red carpet with a rather fashionable and stunning look. However, for her performance, she completely changed her look.
She started her song wearing a dapper black suit. The founder of JLo Beauty then went behind the big screen showing clips from Marry Me and stepped out as a gorgeously blushing bride wearing a corset dress with a silky frilled skirt and veil. The skirt gave a Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City vibes while the hair accessory complemented her stunning bridal look.
While she delivered an emotional performance, scenes from her upcoming film featuring her were playing in the background. She also tossed a bouquet as the brides traditionally do, while singing the lyrics, “And every heartbreak was a yellow brick road / Pointing me straight, just taking me home / I was never lost, I was just passing through / I was on my way to you.”
She certainly took the hearts of the audience away with such a wholesome performance.

Lopez’s new single “On my way” is from her upcoming romantic comedy; Marry Me” also featuring Maluma and Owen Wilson. The film is based on a novel by Bobby Crosby which revolves around the character of J.Lo in the film. Lopez plays the role of a superstar vocalist, who finds out that her fiancé (played by Maluma) has been in a secret relationship with her assistant.
On the day of their much-hyped, live telecasted wedding event, Kat Valdez (played by J.Lo) decides to marry a random stranger from the audience instead (played by Owen Wilson) who was accidentally holding a Marry Me sign at the show.
Last year, J.Lo and Maluma wowed the audience at the American Music Awards with their renditions of “Pa’ Ti” and “Lonely.”
Fans couldn’t help but compare the dynamic duo’s performance to Beyoncé’s risqué performance of “Drunk in Love” at the 2014 Grammy Awards.
Last week, J.Lo opened up about her upcoming film and her future plans about getting married again. While talking on Today on November 18, she stated, “Yeah, I guess,” she further added, “You know me, I’m a romantic. I always have been.” The mother of two also added on a lighter note, “I’ve been married a few times. I still believe in happily ever after for sure. One hundred percent.”
As a matter of fact, it was previously revealed by E! News, Lopez and Ben Affleck have reignited their romance earlier this year and they’re already thinking about getting married.
“They are madly in love,” the source revealed. “Spending time in different cities during the week has made them miss each other like crazy and fall even more in love.” It further added, “They are making many plans and looking forward to their future together.”
Another source told E! News that the couple is “completely on the same page” about not rushing into the relationship and we won’t see Affleck proposing to Lopez just yet.
“They have been meshing their lives and families and don’t feel the need to get engaged yet or even tie the knot,” the insider source revealed in July. “They have both been there and don’t feel it’s necessary.”
Despite being a little bit reluctant about getting engaged too soon, the source emphasized that the couple is madly in love. The source stated “They are both very secure within their relationship and Ben worships her. It’s truly meant to be and everyone around them thinks they are a perfect match.”
