Kevin Bacon Replaces Robert Englund to Become Next Freddy Krueger

Previous summer, Robert Englund said he’s like to see Kevin Bacon take over as Freddy Krueger in a new A Nightmare on Elm street version. And now Bacon discloses to our buddies over at the studio that he’s up for the part.

He says: “Sure. It would take a lot of makeup.”

Englund said last summer: “He’s not a kid anymore either but the rumor I’ve heard that I like is Kevin Bacon. Kevin loves horror. He’s a real actor. He’s a character actor. Kevin was great in Tremors. Kevin was great in Stir of Echoes. And I’ve heard this rumor. We need someone like that to take it on. And re-do it, exploiting all of the new technology.”

Would you like to see Kevin Bacon take over as Freddy?

In Wes Craven’s classic slasher film, a few Midwestern youngsters drop prey to Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund), a distorted midnight mangler who preys on the young people in their dreams — which, in turn, slaughters them in reality.

After examining, Nancy (Heather Langenkamp) starts to suspect that a dull mystery kept by her and her friends’ guardians may be the key to unraveling the puzzle, but can Nancy and her boyfriend Glen (Johnny Depp) illuminate the astound sometime recently it’s as well late?

It sports a 94% on Rotten Tomatoes with a Faultfinders Agreement that peruses: Wes Craven’s cleverly preface, combined with the stunning visual appearance of Freddy Krueger, still causes bad dreams to this day.
