Liz Garbus and Ellen Pompeo Join Forces for The Orphan Project: A Hulu Original Series

Fans of Ellen Pompeo and acclaimed director Liz Garbus will be excited to hear that the two are joining forces for a new Hulu Untitled Orphan Project. This highly anticipated series is set to be directed and executive produced by Liz Garbus and will star Ellen Pompeo in the lead role.

The true story of a Midwestern couple who adopt what they think is an 8-year-old child with a rare type of dwarfism serves as the basis for the upcoming ABC Signature drama. As they bring her up alongside their three biological kids, it is suspected that the 8-year-old isn’t who she claims to be. Viewers may see several elements of the 2009 horror film Orphan repeated in this true-story show.

Liz Garbus also acknowledged the news of the project on her Instagram. She posted the news screenshot with the caption, “So excited to roll my sleeves up with the incredible @ellenpompeo on this deeply engaging and complex pilot penned by the brilliant Katie Robbins.”

In The Handmaid’s Tale Season 5, June struggles to get beyond the consequences of her past decisions and find purpose in her life. For her work on that episode, she was nominated for an Emmy in the category of Best Directing. The show airs on Hulu in the US. For audiences outside the US, here’s how you can watch Handmaid’s Tale Season 5.
