However, this season’s prestigious guest list is missing one significant name, “Deepika Padukone.”

Many sources revealed that Deepika was personally invited by Karan Johar to his show followed by other Bollywood celebrities. Deepika simply didn’t say a “yes” to this season’s Koffee With Karan invitation, a source told. It appears that the lady simply couldn’t find a compelling reason to participate.
Karan Johar invited Ranveer Singh to his show in this season’s first episode where he revealed some interesting secrets about his relationship with Deepika before it even began, and how he saved her phone number wittily. The actor went on to explain how Deepika’s mother Ujala Padukone wasn’t completely comfortable with him in the beginning, but got along pretty well eventually.

It would have been interesting to hear Deepika’s side of the story regarding her relationship with Ranveer, among many other wildly interesting topics about Bollywood, if she had agreed to visit the show as a guest. In fact, Karan recently acknowledged that the episode from 2010 starring Deepika and Sonam Kapoor was one of his most talked-about episodes ever. The one where they made personal comments on Ranbir Kapoor and a few others.
With the notorious nature of the show, Koffee with Karan has proven to be a safe haven for B-town celebrities talking about their exes. It gives the audiences something to talk about, and also a series of speculations as to how celebrities will react to being spoken about themselves, and also their actual reactions.
We are curious as to why DP skipped this season. Maybe she didn’t want to stir up trouble as she did in 2010. She might have simply preferred to avoid talking about her romantic connections. After Ranveer’s experience on KWK this season, he seems to have had enough of the scandal, and it’s possible that Deepika was thinking the same when she rejected the invitation. We can only hope that Deepika will find the time and drive to participate in the forthcoming season of Koffee With Karan.
