Supergirl to End With Season 6

“Supergirl” premiered on CBS in 2015, but for its second season, it made the switch to the CW, joining the vast current slate of superhero shows by producer Greg Berlanti of the network. However,  Warner Bros. and the CW. Television revealed Tuesday that after its forthcoming sixth season, will be the final one.

Benoist wrote a tribute to the series on Instagram, writing, “To say it has been an honor portraying this iconic character would be a massive understatement. Seeing the incredible impact the show has had on young girls around the world has always left me humbled and speechless.”

Benoist further said, “She’s had that impact on me, too. She’s taught me the strength I didn’t know I had, to find hope in the darkest of places, and that we are stronger when we’re united.”

Apart from Benoist, there are also other important characters such as Melissa Benoist stars as leading a cast including Chyler Leigh, Katie McGrath, Jesse Rath, Nicole Maines, Andrea Brooks, Azie Tesfai, Julie Gonzalo, Staz Nair, and David Harewood. Previous stars included Mehcad Brooks, Jeremy Jordan, Chris Wood, Floriana Lima, Odette Annable, and Calista Flockhart.

The final season will have 20 episodes and will release in 2021.
