‘Sequels in the wayyyy’ for the dark and brooding caped crusader ‘The Batman.’

The director Matt Reeves broke the news during the studio’s CinemaCon presentation in Las Vegas. Warner Bros Motion Picture Group Boss Toby Emmerich was delighted to share this news with all the DC Fans

The Batman’ released on 4th March 2022 was undoubtedly a record-breaking success, leaving fans on the edge of their seats. Warner Bros, alongside many fans, now are excited to see how Matt Reeves takes the story further in the Gotham Universe.

Matt Reeves ‘The Batman’ was the long-awaited feature that has clocked over $760M globally and amassed a viewership of 4.1M on Warner-Bros owned streaming service, HBO Max, in its first week. This overcame other Warner Bros productions like Suicide Squad, Dune, The Matrix Resurrections, and Wonder Woman 1984.

Fans didn’t get a lot of theatre releases during the pandemic, but this was the second after Christopher Nolan’s Tenet in 2020. Many fans are not surprised by the announcement considering they were anticipating a sequel.

It was a phenomenal success at the box office, it ended on a cliffhanger, and it performed extremely well in its 45-days in cinema. Also, it has topped the viewership ratings since 18th April 2022 when it was released on HBO Max.

It is currently at the 2nd number on the VOD charts at iTunes and Google.

Gotham’s hero returns for ‘vengeance’ with the same lead cast as well. That’s right! The Twilight star Robert Pattinson returns to pursue the role he ingeniously portrayed.

The Batman revolved around the Riddler (Paul Dano), a serial killer who was after political figures to send a dark and underlying message to The Batman. The Batman investigates the city’s corruption and ends up rewriting a new page in the Wayne family’s history.

Alongside Robert Pattinson as Batman are Zoe Kravitz, Colin Farrell, Jeffrey Wright, Andy Serkis, and others. Collin Farrell’s Penguin is already part of another HBO Max spin-off series.

Reeves extended his gratitude to the room full of exhibitors, “Thank you all for your tremendous support for The Batman. We couldn’t have gotten here without the faith and enthusiasm of all your teams around the world. I’m excited to jump back into this world for the next chapter.”

Stay tuned for confirmed release dates and further details of the upcoming Matt Reeves’s ‘The Batman 2.’ Till then check out all the Batman movies in order!
