Trump Mocks the Oscars on Record Lowest Viewership & Ratings!

The 93rd Academy Awards took place this Tuesday, and Donald Trump wasn’t so sweet with his comments about it. Certainly, this year’s Oscars had the lowest viewership and record-breaking low ratings!

The ex-president threw off a few ideas to make it better. At first, he ridiculed the term Oscars calling it way less exclusive and elegant than “The Academy Awards”. He also added that hiring a crowd-engaging host and being less politically correct would be better.

Trump stated,

What used to be called The Academy Awards, and now is called the ‘Oscars’ — a far less important and elegant name — had the lowest Television Ratings in recorded history, even much lower than last year, which set another record low.

Trump further continued saying that if they keep on conducting the Academy Awards this way, it will only get worse and that too if it was possible. He told in his statement to go back 15 years and see how they did it back then and revert the name back to The Academy Awards and do it the correct way, also adding, “Don’t be so politically correct and boring, also bring back a great host”

Trump blamed the television industry for wasting their time on thinking of ways to promote the Democratic Party and blamed it for destroying the country canceling conservatives and republicans.

As per Nielsen, this year’s Oscars had drawn the lowest audience ever of 10.3 million. In the previous years, the viewership and craze for the Oscars have been falling. According to Deadline’s Dominic Patten, this year’s Oscars had the least viewership and the lowest ratings!

However, on the bright side, many celebrities spoke about the rights of minorities. Regina King started the show by speaking about the verdict given against Derek Chauvin, the police officer who was responsible for the death of George Floyd. Police brutality and discrimination were discussed as well.

Travon Free and Martin Desmond Roe had jackets on with all the names of the black people killed by the police, including Tamir Rice and Duante Wright as well.

Trump wasn’t the sole person to criticize the Oscars, Tomi Lahren, host on Fox News also bashed the event saying that she did not have any wish to watch these Trump-hating Hollywood elites speak useless bogus, the host shared her views in a segment on her show, called “Final Thoughts.”

Besides trashing the Oscars, Trump also showed his discomfort for giving the best picture award to the South Korean film “Parasite”.

He mocked the film saying,

The winner is a movie from South Korea! What the hell was that all about? We got enough problems with South Korea with trade. On top of it, they give them the best movie of the year. Was it good? I don’t know.

However, the most shocking, yet highly expected statement from Trump said “Can we get ‘Gone With the Wind’ back, please?”

Gone with the wind was a film that was pulled out from HBO Max due to its extremely racist content. If such a request comes from the ex-president, we can very well imagine what his state of mind is!
