This article presents a detailed history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe [MCU], which spans over 27 best marvel movies and a slew of TV programs from the beginning of time to the present day.

Marvel introduced viewers to a new, inventive cinematic universe (MCU) with a common chronology ten years ago, and it has since evolved to become the world’s largest film franchise. But how can you bring all of the MCU information together into a single, coherent story?

First, here’s the chronological sequence in which all of the MCU films take place. This list discusses the Marvel movies in chronological order, not in order of releases: The sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy was released in 2017, while it is set shortly after the first one. Similarly, numerous films of the MCU are set immediately after Captain America: Civil War, while Captain Marvel is set in 1995.

What is MCU?

The Marvel Cinematic World (MCU) is a fictitious shared universe that includes Marvel Studios films, Marvel Television shows, and other media. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a group of films and television shows that tell a single story about Marvel characters, locales, and short heroic tales. The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is a joint venture between Disney and Marvel that features characters such as Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Spider-Man, and Iron Man.

• The Walt Disney Firm owns Marvel Studios, which invented the MCU and is the production company for the films, several television programs, and other media. It is a division of Walt Disney Studios.

• Marvel Television, which produced a number of television shows, is now a branch of Marvel Studios and is owned by The Walt Disney Company.

When Tony Stark became Iron Man, the MCU began. Tony Stark was imprisoned in a cave in the Middle East in the 2008 film “Iron Man,” and his only way out was to use nanotechnology to manufacture an artificial heart. As a result, he was able to become Iron Man and determined the course for the MCU’s future. Of course, that also meant fans got to watch Iron Man movies in order, which is an exceptional series!

Marvel Studios

Marvel Studios is a film studio and a Walt Disney Studios subsidiary. Marvel Entertainment Group launched the firm as Marvel Films. Avi Arad served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the division from May 13, 1993, to October 1998, when he moved on to other responsibilities within the corporation, including executive producer for the studios’ film output.

Marvel Television

Marvel Television was a part of Marvel Studios, a Walt Disney Studios company. Live-action and animated (Marvel Animation) TV shows, as well as direct-to-DVD programs, were handled by this division. The Division was based at ABC Studios’ affiliate site.

Marvel has previously licensed a few characters for television shows, with animated series faring better than live-action shows. Marvel Studios has grown from a mostly autonomous company to a $17 billion brand in the last ten years. In this period, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has surely taken Hollywood by storm. Avi Arad – Founder Of Marvel Studios

Avi Arad is an Israeli businessman and film producer who is now the CEO of Toy Biz. In 1993, Marvel bought the firm, and Arad became the president of Marvel Studios. In 1996, Marvel filed for bankruptcy, and Arad was embroiled in intense discussions with Carl Icahn and Ron Perelman over the company’s leadership.

He worked on Iron Man and The Incredible Hulk as a producer, and he was an executive producer on Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, and Spider-Man: No Way Home. He will also executive produce Spider-Man 4.

Arad resigned from his multiple Marvel posts, including his leadership of Marvel Studios, on May 31, 2006, to start his own production business, Arad Productions, which focuses on Marvel-licensed films outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Arad, whose Tel Aviv accent is still audible, declined to discuss the reasons for his departure but said he was frustrated by the young Marvel Studios’ shifting atmosphere and packed hallways.

Kevin Feige – Marvel Studios President and Chief Creative Officer

Individuals have discovered that the man (Kevin Feige) behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been designated Chief Creative Officer, Marvel, in addition to being President of Marvel Studios. He will now be in charge of Marvel’s entire creative direction across all channels, including publishing, cinema, television, and animation. So, it appears that Mr. Loeb will be in charge of any future Marvel television projects, whether animated or real action. With the critically panned Ultimatum and Hulk, Loeb has recently earned a lot of bad publicity, but this might be an opportunity for the once-reliable writer to regain his footing. What are the Different Phases in the MCU?

Marvel phases are a technique of bringing together numerous MCU films. They may all be a response to events from a previous film or they could all accomplish identical aims. Iron Man was the first film in the series, while Spider-Man: Far From Home was the last. The Infinity Stones, and Thanos’ ambition to acquire them, are the central themes of the epic saga.

The Infinity Saga is the term given to the overall plot that spans the first twenty-three Marvel Studios films, with the central focus being on the Infinity Stones, a collection of six powerful items that each govern a distinct part of the universe. Thanos, the alien tyrant who made it his mission to acquire all the stones and use them to slaughter half of the world’s people in the hopes of preventing the cosmos from being destroyed by overpopulation. The Avengers, a group of superheroes, is his principal adversary.

PHASE 01

Iron Man (2008)

Iron Man is a 2008 superhero film based on the same-name Marvel Comics character. It is the first episode of Phase One of the Infinity Saga, as well as the first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film was released globally on April 30, 2008, and in the United States on May 2, 2008.

Six months after the events of Iron Man, Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.) has used his Iron Man armor to broker a negotiated peace treaty between the world’s major superpowers, and his enormous popularity with the general public is only boosted when he realizes his father’s dream of opening the “Stark Expo,” which will showcase all of the world’s latest inventions.

Thor (2011)

Thor is a 2011 superhero film based on the same-name Marvel Comics character. It is the fourth episode of Phase One and the fourth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe; however, the first installment in the Thor movies in order. The film was released globally on April 27, 2011, and in the United States on May 6, 2011.

The year is 1941, and the world is at war. Steve Rogers wants to help his country by joining the military, but the military turns him down because of his short size. Steve finally gets his opportunity when he is accepted into an experimental program that transforms him into Captain America, a supersoldier. Captain America leads the struggle against the Nazi-backed HYDRA organization with Bucky Barnes and Peggy Carter.

Marvel’s The Avengers (2012)

The Avengers, often known as The Avengers or Avengers Assemble, is a 2012 superhero film based on the same-name Marvel Comics superhero team. Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America: The First Avenger are all sequels to this film. It is the sixth and final part of Phase One of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Iron Man 3 (2013)

Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014)

Captain America: The Winter Soldier is a 2014 superhero film based on the same-name Marvel Comics character. Captain America: The First Avenger and The Avengers are both sequels to this film. Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015)

The Avengers: Age of Ultron is a 2015 superhero movie based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name. This film is followed by The Avengers, Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The film is the eleventh installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase Two. On April 22, 2015, the movie was released worldwide, and on May 1, 2015, it was released in the United States.

When Tony Stark initializes a dormant peacekeeping program, things go tragically wrong, forcing him, the Incredible Hulk,  Thor, and the rest of the Avengers to reorganize. Ant-Man (2015)

Ant-Man is a 2015 superhero film based on the same-name Marvel Comics character. It is the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s twelfth film and the sixth and final part of Phase Two. The film was released globally on July 14, 2015, and in the United States on July 17, 2015.

Dr. Hank Pym, forced out of his own firm by former protégé Darren Cross, enlists the help of Scott Lang, a professional thief who has recently been released from jail. Lang is transformed into Ant-Man, thanks to Pym’s training and the suit he wears, which allows him to shrink in size, possess superhuman strength, and command an army of ants. Cross, also known as Yellowjacket, must utilize his new talents to prevent the smaller hero from achieving the same technology and utilizing it as a weapon of evil.

PHASE 03

Captain America: Civil War (2016)

Captain America: Civil War is a 2016 superhero film based on the same-name Marvel Comics character. Captain America: The First Avenger, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Ant-Man are all sequels to this film. It is the thirteenth episode of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the first of Phase Three. The film was released globally on April 27, 2016, and in the United States on May 6, 2016.

When the Avengers’ operations cause collateral damage, political pressure rises to establish a system of responsibility. Members of the squad are profoundly divided as a result of the new status quo. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is a 2017 Marvel Comics superhero fantasy adventure film based on the same-name superhero squad. The film is a sequel to the Marvel Studios blockbuster Guardians of the Galaxy. It’s the fifteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the third in the Phase Three series. The film was released globally on April 25, 2017, and in the United States on May 5, 2017.

A powerful extraterrestrial species, the Sovereign, hires Peter Quill and his fellow Guardians to secure its valuable batteries from attackers. The Sovereign deploys their armada to seek retribution after it is revealed that Rocket has stolen the artifacts they were entrusted to guard. The secret of Peter’s parentage is exposed as the Guardians try to flee.

Spider-Man: Homecoming (2017)

The 2017 superhero film Spider-Man: Homecoming is modeled after the Marvel Comics character. The film is a relaunch of the Spider-Man franchise and a sequel to Captain America: Civil War. It is the sixteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the fourth chapter of Phase Three. On July 5, 2017, the version was produced worldwide, and on July 7, 2017, in the United States.

Peter Parker comes home to live with his Aunt May, who is taken aback by his reaction to the Avengers. Under the mentoring of mentor Tony Stark, Parker starts to embrace his new role as Spider-Man. He also tries to go back to his normal routine but is distracted by the need to prove that he is much more than a friendly neighborhood superhero. Peter’s powers will be put to the test as the terrifying Vulture arrives and threatens everything Peter holds dear.

Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

Thor: Ragnarok is a 2017 superhero film based on the same-name Marvel Comics character. Thor, Thor: The Dark World, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Doctor Strange are all sequels to this film. It is the seventeenth entry of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the fifth of Phase Three. The film was released globally on October 24, 2017, and in the United States on November 3, 2017.

Black Panther (2018)

T’Challa comes home to the African country of Wakanda after his father’s death to claim his rightful throne. Ant-Man and the Wasp (2018)

Ant-Man and the Wasp is a 2018 superhero film based on the same-name Marvel Comics characters. Ant-Man and Captain America: Civil War are both sequels to this film. It is the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s twentieth film and the eighth episode of Phase Three. The film was released globally on July 4, 2018, and in the United States on July 6, 2018.

Captain Marvel (2019)

Captain Marvel is a superhero film released in 2019 based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. It is the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s twenty-first film and the ninth entry of Phase Three. On March 8, 2019, the film was released.

Avengers: Endgame (2019)

Tony Stark, alone in space who will have to survive without water or food, sends an indication to Pepper Potts that his oxygen supply will soon run out. On the other hand, the remaining Avengers — Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, and Bruce Banner — must work out a means to resurrect their defeated comrades in time for an ultimate clash with Thanos, the terrible demigod who wiped out the world and the cosmos.

Spider-Man: Far From Home (2019)

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021)

“Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings,” a Marvel Studios film, stars Simu Liu as Shang-Chi, who falls into an intriguing trap in which he is lured into the web of the hidden Ten Rings organization and forced to face the history he thought he had forgotten. Spider-Man: No Way Home (Dec 2021)

When he asks for the help of Doctor Strange to get his secrets back, this action creates a hole in their reality.  Now Peter must face his most difficult task yet, one that will irrevocably affect not only his own but the Multiverse’s future. What makes this movie even more interesting are the speculations that this movie is set to bring back all classic villains since 2002 and maybe the previous Spider-men.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (May 2022)

Doctor Strange in the Universe of Madness will follow in the footsteps of recent Marvel films by going into the multiverse, as the title suggests. It’s a large effort for the entertainment behemoth, one that’s made more difficult by the film’s rocky development. Scott Derrickson, the filmmaker of the 2016 antecedent to this picture, co-wrote a script and was slated to return to the director’s chair for the sequel, but creative differences forced him to leave the project, which is when Raimi was hired.

Thor: Love and Thunder (July 2022) 

Although the Thor sequel’s release date has been pushed back multiple times, the film is still expected to hit theatres next year. Unfortunately, there isn’t a trailer for the film yet, but we’ve done our best to forecast when one will be released. In addition, there have been several leaked set photographs – and even a video – that have given us some indications about the narrative of the film.

The forthcoming superhero film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is based on the Marvel Comics superheroes of the same name. Ant-Man, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and Avengers: Endgame is all sequels to this film. It is the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s thirty-second film and the eleventh feature of Phase Four. On July 28, 2023, the film will be released.

Fantastic Four (TBA)

The Wakanda series is back to displaying its performance on the screens. The insights have not been released yet, but it is assumed that the series will be aired on the new Disney+ series, which is still underdeveloped. However, the plot of the series is yet not disclosed, but it is said that a throwaway could be seen in the Endgame series about the villain.
