SB-Female-Marvel-characters-UK

You could find hundreds of female marvel characters in MCU, but who are the best ones? Although men created the initial Marvel Comics brand, some of the most famous characters are women. From Black Widow to Storm, women have proven that they can kick butt with their male counterparts and even get the girl as well!

While this isn’t an exhaustive list, it’s a great place to start if you’re interested in learning more about some of the women who make our favourite comic books so much fun to read! Out of this top female marvel characters list, you can see many of them in the Marvel movies in order.

The craze for the avenger’s female marvel characters has been increasing recently, and for the same reason, many young female marvel characters may come into the Marvel Universe. So, let us start our top 20 Female marvel characters.

Black WidowBlack widowww

Let’s start with Natasha Romanoff, AKA Black Widow. Not only is she super hot, but she’s incredibly deadly and has some crazy weapons skills. It takes a special female to go up against baddies of The Winter Soldier, Hawkeye, and even The Hulk.

Plus, her skill set includes martial arts, which means we can definitely picture her fighting off any attackers at a self-defence class. She first appeared in Tales of Suspense #52 (April 1964) and featured primarily in that series during its first year, and she has since appeared in over five decades of Marvel continuity.

Black Widow was originally an unnamed villain who battled Iron Man. If you’re looking for an ass-kicking superheroine, look no further than Black Widow.

Nemesis

When she debuted in Avengers, many fans were excited to see a new female character. The original art shows her with long hair and a skirt, which didn’t thrill some fans who were looking for something different.

But she quickly became one of Rick Remender’s most lovely creations and is arguably his best work at Marvel. She has appeared in Uncanny Avengers, Captain America & Secret Avengers, and recently made her first appearance in Jason Aaron’s run on Thor.

She’s strong, witty, daring, and a competent fighter—just as much a hero as anybody else on Earth—if not more so. Like Hawkeye or Mockingbird before her, expect to see Nemesis used sparingly but effectively moving forward.

Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel

If you’re interested in strong female Marvel characters, Carol Danvers is an excellent place to start. Known as Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers has held her own alongside some of Marvel’s mightiest male superheroes, including Iron Man and Thor.

The recent film release of Captain Marvel introduced a younger incarnation who fights crime with the help of her cat-like powers. But don’t worry—you don’t need to have seen it to get behind Carol Danvers.

In addition to her old-school comic book prowess (she was one of Ms. Magazine’s Women of the Year in 1977), she also fought against evil alien forces in Avengers Assemble and Secret Wars II as well as played a vital role in Black Panther.

Spider-Girl

Spider-Girl

When most people think of Spider-Man, they typically think of Peter Parker. He’s been around longer, got more movies, and has many more villains than his female counterpart. But with Spider-Girl, fans get to read about an entirely different kind of Spidey.

Mayday Parker is Peter’s daughter in an alternate universe where she gets bitten by a radioactive spider instead of him. This gives her all of her father’s powers and some new ones. She also has her own rogues gallery that includes such baddies as Venom, Carnage, and Morlun (who killed her Uncle Ben).

Jessica Jones

After surviving a deadly car accident that killed her parents, Jessica was adopted by the Jones family and grew up to become a rebellious private investigator who often used her superhuman strength to help her clients. Jessica’s role as an investigator came in handy when she found herself tangled in an investigation for which she wasn’t prepared.

The Avengers wanted to find out if a crime organization called IGH had been performing illegal experiments on humans. At first, Jess refused to join forces with Iron Man and Captain America, but after meeting Luke Cage (the former Power Man), she realized that she shared more similarities with him than he did with other heroes.

Nebula

Nebula'

One of the most loved female marvel characters is Nebula. She’s one of those baddies who were in it for a while before we really got to know her. The first time we see her is when she attacks her sister, Gamora, and they both get captured by Ronan and put into his army.

In that movie, she gets reformed after Ronan betrays her and leaves her behind on Earth. She doesn’t let that experience break or change her and instead uses it as motivation to join forces with Thanos, one of the best Marvel villains, to escape from imprisonment by him!

Storm

While Storm doesn’t have an abundance of powers (although she does display some pretty cool weather-related ones), she makes up for it with her strength, agility, and attitude. She is often considered one of the most powerful mutants in X-Men history.

What is particularly interesting about Storm is that she was a rare example of a female superhero in comic books when they were few and far between.

While it may be easy to dismiss her as merely eye candy (in truth, early sketches by artist Dave Cockrum actually did make her look somewhat sexualized), what we do know is that comic book readers love her—and love to debate which X-Men characters are better or worse than one another. Here’s a guide to watching X-Men movies online!

Okoye

Why Okoye Isn't Thrilled To See The Avengers In Wakanda | Cinemablend

Okoye might not seem like an obvious pick for a female marvel with her head-to-toe body armor and sheer brawn. However, that’s precisely what makes her so remarkable.

From Black Panther, Okoye has literally never been taken down in combat; even if she’s injured, she still continues to fight until she wins (making her one of our favourite female marvel characters in MCU’s Timeline).

From all that is on record about Okoye, we know that nothing will stop her from doing what needs to be done. What more could one ask for in a female superhero?

Dark Phoenix

Jean Grey’s alter ego is arguably one of Marvel’s strongest female leads. Jean has a massive amount of raw, untapped power that she channels through her telepathy and telekinesis.

As Dark Phoenix, Jean loses control over herself as she starts destroying entire planets in an act to please The White Hot Room.

It’s only when her former teammates step in to confront her that they can separate herself from Dark Phoenix. Her story ends tragically; Jean dies while trying to save a spaceship full of people by absorbing all their energy at once.

But, it was Jean’s sacrifice that allowed X-Men fans to see just how strong one woman can be—both inside and outside battle.

She-Hulk

She-Hulk

The Savage She-Hulk is one of the comic books’ most intelligent superheroines. Not only did she manage to get her law degree from Columbia University, but she was also accepted into and graduated from college in mere seconds.

When Jennifer Walters is not busy fighting crime or serving on Avengers teams, she works as a lawyer for both superheroes and supervillains.

She has saved everyone from ZZZax and Gamma Bomb to Walter Declan and his unscrupulous company MODOK (Military Operating Death Ray). But above all else, She-Hulk fights for what is right with an unmatched passion that few others can match.

The She-Hulk movie is under production and may be released later in the year! Until then, you can enjoy watching The Hulk movies in order!

Gamora

Scarlet Witch

Scarlett witch

While Scarlet Witch has struggled to get a superhero film of her own for some years. Then she appeared in Avengers- Age of Ultron, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. She’s a compelling character and one who’s held her own with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes time and again.

If you know what all her powers are, you know that makes for one badass character. Scarlet Witch isn’t to be taken lightly; if you see her in action, just wait until she hits Phase 3. You won’t be disappointed. Scarlet Witch is one of the avengers female marvel characters you should not miss watching.

The Wasp

The Wasp'

Janice Jan van Dyne is a fictional female superhero that appears in Marvel Comics’ American comic novels. Created by Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Irv Webster, she first appeared in Tales to Astonish #44 (July 1966).

The character was initially depicted as one of Hank Pym’s co-stars in Tales to Astonish before becoming a founding member of the superhero team known as the Avengers.

The Wasp adopted her new moniker after that initial appearance. She has usually been depicted as having shrunken down to insect size when using her powers and wearing a suit equipped with artificial wings that allow her to fly.

This is due to radiation exposure from being involved in an accident when she was supposed to help Pym test his Pym Particles with him.

Spider-Woman

Spider-Woman

Jessica Drew is a human-sized spider enhanced with bio-energy. She was born in New York (Queens) and gained her powers after being bit by a radioactive spider while at a lab in Massachusetts.

Jessica uses her powers to combat crime throughout New York City as a member of SHIELD while juggling life as a young woman attending college and occasionally working as an exotic dancer to pay rent on her apartment.

Spider-Woman received her own title in 1980 and has continued appearing across different forms of media ever since, including video games, animated series, and even comics from other publishers!

Until a Spider woman movie is out, you can enjoy watching Spider-man movies in order!

Shuri

Shuri

The Genius Princess Shuri is a 14-year-old princess from Wakanda and sister to T’Challa. Though she first appeared in Captain America: Civil War, Shuri made her comic book debut in Black Panther Vol. 6 #1 (July 2013) as part of Ta-Nehisi Coates’ run on Black Panther.

With her brother sidelined following his defeat at Thanos’ hands, Shuri becomes Black Panther for a time. In Black Panther Vol. 7 #1 (October 2018), she even claims to be Queen Regent until her brother returns—and since her country is a female monarchy, it seems she may be right.

Shuri’s an innovator and leader, making her one of Marvel’s best female characters. Shuri is one of the most loved young female Marvel characters.

She-Venom

She Venom

Making her comic book debut in Amazing Spider-Man #344 in 1993, She-Venom isn’t actually a character with which most Marvel fans are familiar. And for a good reason: She only appeared on a single page! Yet her existence on that one page is incredibly memorable and altogether hilarious.

Long story short: Flash Thompson was bitten by Venom during his time as Agent Venom and sought out other men who had been affected by Venom to form an antihero group called The Jury.

Rogue

Rogue

When thinking about female characters in Marvel comics, you probably think of superheroines like Captain Carter and Black Widow. However, there are also many villains and antiheroes who are women—including Rogue.

She has super strength and can fly; however, she can’t touch anyone without absorbing their powers or memories. She is an X-Men favorite for a reason! She is one of the avengers female marvel characters loved and hated by almost the same number of fans.

Even though Rogue is a negative character, she finds her place in the top female marvel characters list.

Ms. Marvel

Ms. Marvel

Kamala Khan, A.K.A. Ms. Marvel, is a teenager living in Jersey City, New Jersey, and a fan of Carol Danvers’ Captain Marvel—she idolizes her even if she’s never met her!

When she is exposed to some alien technology while fighting crime one night, she develops superhuman powers and becomes her idol’s most incredible legacy yet!

As a Muslim-American character, Kamala deals with being an outsider and balancing her superhero identity with all other aspects of life. Hence, she has to be one of the top female marvel characters one could see in the marvel world.

Spectrum
