Start with Netflix’s new spin-off series “Dead Boy Detectives,” perfect for Sandman fans. If you’re into horror, “Them” is back with a second season on Prime Video, and Knuckles the echidna stars in a new “Sonic the Hedgehog” spin-off on Paramount Plus.
Of course, if stalkers are your thing, you’ll enjoy “Baby Reindeer” and “Killing Eve” on Netflix. For movie lovers, Netflix also offers “City Hunter,” a new twist on a beloved manga.
On Shudder, check out the spine-chilling French horror movie “Infested.” Romantic comedy fans can enjoy “Anyone But You” starring Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney on US Netflix. In the UK, Prime Video is streaming Jonathan Glazer’s haunting Holocaust drama “The Zone of Interest.”
That’s a LOT of streaming to be done. Check out my top picks for what to watch this weekend.

Check out all the trailers down below!
What to Watch this Weekend on Netflix
Whether you’re in the mood for a thrilling series or a feel-good film, Netflix has something to make your weekend memorable. Here are my top picks:
1. Baby Reindeer
Streaming on Netflix
This Netflix Original turned out to be much darker and more intense than I expected. The show, an adaptation of Richard Gadd’s one-man play based on true events, initially looks like it might be a dark comedy about a stalker. However, it’s much more serious.
Although it was sometimes tough to watch and not what I expected, the series was brilliantly done. I definitely recommend it, but be aware that it deals with heavy themes like mental health and trauma.
2. Dead Boy Detectives
Stream it on Netflix
The series revolves around two deceased boys, Charles (Jayden Revri) and Edwin (George Rexstrew), who run a detective agency with the help of Crystal (Kassius Nelson) and Niko (Yuyu Kitamura), two living girls who can see them after supernatural encounters.
If you liked “Supernatural,” you might enjoy this series too. It’s not just about solving a new mystery each week; it also builds a bigger story that shows how the characters learn and grow from each adventure.
3. City Hunter
Stream it on Netflix
Strange things are happening in Tokyo. People with incredible strength and a violent craving for blood are attacking others. Crime fighter Ryo Saeba, a private detective and ladies’ man, is on the case.
He recently lost his friend and co-worker to one of these attackers. Ryo is determined to find out what’s causing these violent outbursts. This action unfolds in “City Hunter,” a Japanese live-action film based on the popular manga by Tsukasa Hōjō.
4. Anyone But You
Start streaming on Netflix
In a relaxed take on Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing,” Powell plays Ben, a finance guy masking his deep emotional scars with carefree nihilism.
He has a chance encounter with Bea, played by Sydney Sweeney, a law student questioning her career path. The chemistry between them is instant, and they spend a day and night together, revealing sides of themselves they seldom share with others. But things mess up quickly and romance ensues!
What To Watch on Shudder This Weekend
Brace yourself for a spine-tingling weekend with Shudder’s collection of horror, thrillers, and supernatural flicks. Perfect for the daring viewer, these picks promise to keep you on the edge of your seat.
5. Infested
Watch now on Shudder
Kaleb is fascinated with exotic insects and amphibians and keeps a collection in his apartment. However, chaos ensues when a rare, venomous spider manages to break free from its enclosure.
This situation quickly escalates beyond a simple pest issue: the spider is pregnant. The tenants must now battle for survival against this expanding horde of spiders. Adding to the terror, the spiders are evolving, becoming increasingly more menacing.
6. Blood and Black Lace
Watch now on Shudder
Blood and Black Lace remains my top pick among Mario Bava’s films. Its direction, cinematography, and set designs are truly breathtaking.
This movie was as pivotal and impactful to the Slasher sub-genre as Psycho. Featuring a masked killer, a distinctive setting (a high-fashion house in this instance), and a series of uniquely executed murders across various set pieces—it perfectly encapsulates the Slasher blueprint.
And to think, this was back in 1964!
