Blink-182’s bassist Mark Hoppus “We’re celebrating ‘cause I’m cancer-free!!!” in recent update

Mark Hoppus shares that we’re celebrating ‘cause I’m cancer-free!! with the cameraman who caught a glimpse of him leaving the restaurant Craig’s in Los Angeles. This is great news for his fans who were shared with, his year-long battle with lymphoma cancer.

In his response, the Bling-182 singer gave the fans a life update, sharing that he’s been free from his cancer struggles since September 2021. The TMZ reporter also questioned about his upcoming projects and whether he’d return to the music industry or not. 

In the TMZ interview, Mark expresses his gratitude and optimism, declaring he’s ‘glad to be here.’

And yes, he also confirms getting back with his band. He shares, “I most wanted to get back out into the studio and get back to playing music, and get off of my couch,’ he said with a big beaming smile on his face. The interviewer also asked about his any music project in progress, to which he replied, ‘Hopefully soon. We’ll see if I can write something happy this time”

He also asked for some words of wisdom from the singer after such a painful battle, to which he responded Enjoy each and every day.By the end, he was even asked to weigh on his opinion of Bling-182’s lead drummer Travis Barker’s relationship with Kourtney Kardashian.

Do you think Kourtney is the one for Travis? ‘Yes I do,’ shared the musician after which his wife, Skye Everly joked, ‘I think I’m the one for Travis’. He did express that he’s ‘very happy’ with Travis and Kourtney. 

Mark had broken the news of his illness around June 2021 on Instagram. His battle with Stage 4 diffuse large B-cell Lymphoma began, which was mostly ‘blood related’. Even in the world of cancer, the diagnosis of this was particularly more terrifying to the singer. Hoppus did not minimize the danger.

He shared, “I have cancer. It sucks and I’m scared, and at the same time I’m blessed with incredible doctors and family and friends to get me through this,”. Global fans took to their socials to commend Hoppus’s attempt to destigmatize the illness by speaking positively and highly of the situation. He also shared pictures of himself on Instagram with a clean-shaved head after his radiation treatment had commenced

In September, he expressed his success story with joy as he wrote: Just saw my oncologist and I’m cancer-free!! “Thank you God and universe and friends and family and everyone who sent support and kindness and love. Still have to get scanned every six months and it’ll take me until the end of the year to get back to normal but today is an amazing day and I feel so blessed. Can I get a W in the chat?”

This was a relief to the singer, considering his response back in June when he was initially diagnosed and went public with his condition. He tweeted then, It sucks and I’m scared, and at the same time I’m blessed with incredible doctors and family and friends to get me through this.’

He kept his fans updated through Twitch live streams, tweets, and more. After months of chemotherapy and drastic changes, the proceeding months made him strong enough to beat cancer. 

In January 2022, the singer revealed his return to the music industry by sharing, Just want to say that I’m very grateful to be back in the mindset of “Oh! That’s a cool idea for a song lyric, I should write that down.” I haven’t felt that in eight months.’ 

This leaves our fans excited for the band’s upcoming album. Many took to Twitter to express their love for seeing his fit and happy self in the TMZ interview. @brandsonmor tweeted

Since 1992, Blink-182 was a prominent and one of the most successful bands of influential rock acts. With Travis Barker on drums and Matt Skiba on vocals, the band released their 8th and last studio album Nine.

There are still some details yet to be revealed about Mark Hoppus’s plans and whether his upcoming music projects will be with Blink-182 or others. For now, the fans are happy to see the singer in a much healthier state.
