Real-Life Mother Coleen Nick says ‘Still Missing Morgan’ Effort Might Help Find Answers

Real-Life Mother Coleen Nick says

Morgan Nick vanished from a baseball park in Alma about 28 years ago, and now a new docuseries called Still Missing Morgan is airing on Hulu. Morgan’s mother, Coleen Nick says the series, — which renowned director Ridley Scott  joined as an executive producer — is an effort to seek out answers about her daughter’s disappearance.

“Now that she’s been missing for almost 28 years, and it’s, you know, all over Arkansas and all around the globe, our hope is that we are still going to find an answer,” Nick explained.

Morgan was just 6 years old when she was kidnapped on June 9, 1995. She’s still missing decades later, with an on-again, off-again investigation that last yielded a clue in 2020. “My goal is to fight for Morgan. And you know, we, over the last couple of years, had some crazy developments in the search for Morgan. But you either have to quit, or you have to go forward,” Nick said.

The four-part series follows investigators as they uncover new leads and make breakthroughs in the case. It focuses on new investigators that re-examined Morgan’s case a couple of years ago and hunted a fresh lead that may have yielded closure for Nick and her family. Nick thinks that now that the series is available on Hulu, a much larger audience will assist her in finding the answers to Morgan’s case.

The most recent update on the case featured a man called Billy Jack Lincks. He was identified as a person of interest by police two years ago, but he died before they could learn more.

“Once you watch the fourth part, I mean, you know, we’ve got this, this man who’s deceased, who did really bad things to little kids, you know, and they found her shirt fibers in his truck. So that’s a very hard thing to have to face,” Nick said.

Initially, Nick stated that she did not want the documentary to be made, but the law enforcement team handling Morgan’s case for her agreed that it was a good idea, which, in turn, made the mother also change her mind about it.

“I think they did an absolutely stellar job telling Morgan’s story, helping people to see her for who she is, and not as just another sad story that happened,” Nick said, appreciating the director and his team’s efforts in making the series that took three years to film. Overall, Nick stated that the docuseries was tough to watch, but she is satisfied with the way it has shaped up. “We just focused on making a documentary that honors Morgan that honors really her legacy, her gift that she’s given to Arkansans, and to the whole world,” she said.
