The highly-anticipated season 2 of the hit Netflix series “Ginny & Georgia” has taken the streaming platform by storm, landing at number 10 on the list of most popular English TV shows with over 500 million hours viewed.

The second season of “Ginny & Georgia” premiered on January 5, with eight episodes available for streaming. By its fifth week, the series had accumulated a total of 504.77 million hours watched, according to data from Netflix. It is estimated that 56 million households tuned in, calculated based on the total hours viewed divided by its approximate 9-hour runtime.

Furthermore, on the chart covering January 30 through February 5, Season 2 of the famous series was ranked second behind the fantasy series “Lockwood & Co.” with an additional 38.09 million hours viewed. The first season of “Ginny & Georgia” also made the list, logging 22.5 hours watched.

The melodramatic series which was created by Sarah Lampert, debuted in February 2021. The lead roles are portrayed by Antonia Gentry and Brianne Howey as Ginny and Georgia, a 15-year-old daughter and her mother. The two move to the imaginary town of Wellsbury and must adapt to their new surroundings. However, their integration is complicated by the numerous criminal activities in Georgia’s troubled history.

Despite its impressive ranking, the weekly top spot for the most popular show on Netflix was taken by “Lockwood & Co.” The fantasy series has also been a big hit among viewers, raking in over 500 million hours viewed and making its mark on the platform’s top 10 list.

The journey of Season 2 of the comedy series to reach the top 10 most popular English TV series list on Netflix follows the impressive debut of “Wednesday,” a spinoff of the “Addams Family” series, which stars Jenna Ortega as the teenage daughter of the Addams family.

The highly regarded teen sitcom “Wednesday” remained on top the Nielsen Streaming Chart for the second week in a row since its premiere and broke audience records.

Moreover, other notable series that made the list include New Amsterdam (Seasons 1-3), Vikings: Valhalla Season 2, That ’90s Show, and Freeridge Season 1.

As for movies, the rom-com “You People” continues its reign as the top-watched film, with 65.6 million hours of viewership. It was written by Kenya Barris and Jonah Hill, and ranked in the top 10 in 90 countries.

Similarly, the documentary “Pamela, a love story,” featuring Pamela Anderson, premiered in second place with 24.3 million hours of viewership. While “Minions: The Rise of Gru” came in third place with 19.4 million hours viewed.

“Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” remained in the top 10 for the seventh week with 6.8 million hours of viewership. Other films on the list include “Sniper: Ghost Shooter,” “True Spirit,” “The Hurricane Heist,” and “Bloodshot.”
