Let’s admit it, Scream just isn’t Scream without its leading lady Neve Campbell! Thank god the actress will be returning in her role as Sidney Prescott in the Spyglass Media Group and Paramount Pictures relaunch of Scream! The actress has played the leading role in all of the Scream’s franchises till Scream 4 and honestly as she puts as much life and fear in the movie as does the Ghost face!

The directors for scream are Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett while the screenplay is being written by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. All the names mentioned have been involved in successful horror films such as Ready or Not, V/H/S, Murder Mystery, Zodiac, and Castle Rock to name a few.

Radio Silence expressed, “We’re pinching ourselves! It’s hard to express how much the character Sidney Prescott shaped our love of movies and to have the chance to work with Neve is truly a dream come true. It just wouldn’t be a Scream movie without Neve and we’re so excited and honored to join her in Woodsboro.”

Neve Campbell also talked about the love for Scream and Radio Silence, “After spending time speaking with Radio Silence, they have shown such love, respect, and admiration for Wes Craven and all that he’s created in the Scream franchise. I am beyond excited to step back into the role of Sidney Prescott and return to Woodsboro.”

With the lead lady confirmed to come back in the relaunch, the franchise’s original creator Kevin Williamson along with Project X Entertainment’s Paul Neinstein, and William Sherak, and member of the Radio Silence Chad Villella will be producing the relaunch.

The production is set to shoot in Wilmington, North Carolina, while the film will release globally on January 14, 2022.
