Maria Shriver is standing firmly behind her son-in-law Chris Pratt after he faced heavy criticism on his Instagram post.
Shriver, the mother of Pratt’s wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, advised the film star to ignore the people slating his recent Instagram post admiring Schwarzenegger for giving him a “gorgeous healthy daughter.”
Chris Pratt came under heavy criticism for a photograph he shared of himself and wife Katherine Schwarzenegger on Instagram with a caption that fans found to be contemptuous of his ex-wife Anna Faris and 9-year-old son Jack.
Jack, whom Pratt shares with Faris, was unfortunately born premature and faced several health issues after his birth.
Despite several people putting Pratt under heavy fire, in the comments section of his post, his mother-in-law supported him with a powerful, heartening message instead.
Shriver, 66, reached out to Pratt’s Instagram post and wrote: “I want to remind you today what a good man you are what a great father you are to Jack and Lyla what a great husband you are to Katherine what a great son in law you are to me and what a great sense of humor you have !!”
She also showed her love for Pratt, saying: “I love you Chris keep being your wonderful self rise above the noise your kids love your family loves you your wife loves you what a beautiful life I’m proud of you xo.”
Pratt, on Friday, said in his Instagram story that the negative comments on his acknowledgment to Schwarzenegger upset him to a great deal.
He said: “I went to bed last night really kind of upset and depressed,” Pratt said Friday in his Instagram Story, “and I woke up feeling crappy and I didn’t want to work out.”
“I knew that if I put on my Christian music playlist, and I got out of the woods and ran that I’d feel better, but I just didn’t want to,” he further added. “And I did it anyways and, gosh, was I right. It felt amazing. I got out of the woods, got my blood pumping. That moment… it really captured me and so I just want to say, all glory to God.”
In his original post, Pratt, 42, the Jurassic World star shared a family photo on Instagram in awe of her wife Katherine Schwarzenegger with the caption:

She’s given me an amazing life, a gorgeous healthy daughter, she chews so loudly that sometimes i put in my earbuds to drown it out, but that’s love! She helps me with everything. Chris Pratt and Ana Faris got married in 2009. They have a son, Jack, who was born on August 25, 2012, nine weeks premature and had to spend a month in intensive care due to medical complications. Pratt and Faris split in 2017.
Two years after his divorce to Faris, Pratt married Katherine Schwarzenegger in June 2019. The couple welcomed their daughter, Lyla, in August 2020.
