In a significant development, the BCCI Announced Indian Team Squad for Asia Cup 2023 during a press conference held by Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar and Captain Rohit Sharma.

Looking ahead, Team India will cross paths with their traditional rivals Pakistan and Nepal during the group stage matches of the Tournament. These two and all other matches have a massive fandom, and people are looking to get ball-by-ball updates by watching Asia Cup 2023 in USA and other countries.

The Indian squad will face their arch-rivals Pakistan on 2nd September 2023. The coverage to watch India vs Pakistan in USA and worldwide will begin at 12:30 PM live from Pallekel, Sri Lanka. While the playing 11 of the high voltage match will be disclosed on the match day, the 17 players in the Indian squad of the Asia Cup 2023 are now public.

Amid these preparations, what stands out is the return of KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer to the team. This, along with the inclusion of Tilak Varma, speaks volumes about the team’s strategic approach to selections. Moreover, the return of Prasidh Krishna after his successful recovery from a period of injury adds an extra layer of strength to the team’s overall readiness.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav has moved ahead of Sanju Samson for the substitute batter’s role. India has made a deliberate decision by choosing the T20 standout, despite his adjustments to the ODI style. Nonetheless, Samson maintains his position in the lineup as a contingency choice.

Tilak Varma, who recently stepped into international cricket and is participating in the T20I series against Ireland, has earned his inaugural selection into the ODI squad. This nod comes on the back of his impressive displays during the T20Is. Tilak not only adds a left-handed middle-order batting choice to the team but also enhances the squad with his off-spin bowling skills.

Yuzvendra Chahal, the leg spinner with limited opportunities in recent ODI matches, has been excluded from the squad entirely.

The rest of the team’s arrangement is as expected, featuring the leading ensemble of fast bowlers making a comeback. Jasprit Bumrah marks his return to the ODI squad after more than a year, having last played in the ODI series against England. The trio of Prasidh Krishna, Mohammed Siraj, and Mohammed Shami is also back in action, forming the core quartet of India’s favored fast bowlers for ODIs.
