Iggy Azalea and Britney Spears’ have been friends since a very young age, and now their friendship is stronger than before. On Tuesday, Britney posted a throwback photo on Instagram from the 2015 Billboard Music Awards where the two performed together.

Azalea, the rapper, commented on the post,

“I absolutely adore you more than words (and I still have the barbies you gave me 💕). Loving you always you brilliant, too-genius-for this-world-to-understand, kind-hearted, gracious & beautifully ethereal being. We are definitely two big ole goofballs in the best way possible 😆😝.”

Spears’ also called Azalea a “badass woman,” praising her for the strength and confidence she has. Spears captioned the photo,

“Me and Iggy on stage 🎤💃🏼👯 !!! It was so much fun working with such a strong, badass woman like her. I haven’t met her new baby but if she’s reading this God bless you and thank you for all your kind words 🌹🌹🌹 !!!! Pssss although the name of the song is Pretty Girls I think the concept is more like revenge of the NERDS 😂🤓 !!!!”

Joining in for support, Paris Hilton also commented on the post, writing,

“I love both of you girls so much!! 😍😍👸🏼👸🏼 Queens.”

In a recent interview with PEOPLE, Azalea mentioned that her new makeup collection, “Fancy,” was largely inspired by Britney’s style and glamour. She further commented,

“Of course, Britney. She’s an icon forever. I know her and love her. She’s such an icon and inspiration and was so kind to me that if I could help her in any way that I can, then I want to do that.”

Further speaking about Britney, Azalea mentioned the reason why she had not been publicly supporting her previously,

“I never said anything before because I really wanted to respect her privacy, but after she spoke, I just thought if I were in her shoes, I would want my friends to back me up. I felt like, you know what? Regardless of what people might think about it, I have to say something.”

Back in June, after the emotional court hearing, the “Sip It” singer supported Britney when she broke her silence on the 13-year painful conservatorship. At the time Azalea Tweeted,

“It’s basic human decency to at the very least remove a person Britney has identified as abusive from her life. This should be illegal.”

She also revealed something about the 2015 performance,

“During the time we worked together in 2015, I personally witnessed the same behavior Britney detailed in regards to her father last week, and I just want to back her up and tell the world that: She is not exaggerating or lying. I saw her restricted from even the most bizarre and trivial things: like how many sodas she was allowed to drink. Why is that even Necessary?”

Azalea also mentioned how Jamie forced her into signing an NDA (Non-Disclosure-Agreement),

“He told me if I did not sign an NDA he would not allow me on stage. The way he went about getting me to sign a contract, sounded similar to the tactics Britney spoke about last week in regards to her Las Vegas show.”

Support for Britney also came from another friend, Drew Barrymore, who has been supporting her publicly and personally.

Barrymore revealed that she has been sending video messages to Britney throughout all this time of court hearing and mental stress. She’s been sending encouraging messages and telling Britney that she herself is the key to her freedom.

The CBS Television Stations group was on board to anchor the launch of The Drew Barrymore Show. The actress turned TV host thanked the supporters for the #FreeBritney movement, stating,

“I appreciate all the people that have been supporting Britney on social media. I took a different turn. I’ve actually been sending her personal videos.”

Barrymore continued,

“I am very invested in this. I think everyone deserves the chance to get their life right, wrong and everything in between. This has become such public interest because it’s about something bigger. It’s about being allowed to live your life. And so, I’m invested in this and I really want her to find her freedom.”

She also realizes it is more important to be there for Britney in person and directly, rather than just on social platforms. She also mentioned that she understands what Britney is going through, as she herself had suffered in life, referring to how she was put into a psychiatric hospital by her mother when she was 13. However, she doesn’t compare her situation with Britney’s but has great empathy for her. She stated,

“I wanted to really show her I’m someone who has understood what a journey is like and I don’t compare myself to her, but I’m here to support her if there’s anything she needs in private.”

She added,

“I have so much empathy toward so many people. I’m sure that people look on and think, ‘These party girls, these privileges, how dare they have feelings about any of this? They’ve put themselves out there, they’ve asked for this — it’s fair f**king game.’ And I just go, ‘They’re humans. They’re just humans. It’s hard to grow up in front of people, it’s just hard.”

Another good news came in for Britney, as confirmed by “US Weekly.” On Tuesday Jamie, filed a petition to end his position as a conservator of Britney’s estate, a position he had held for more than a decade and used her daughter’s money as per his own will. The petition will be heard on January 28th, 2022, during an authority hearing.

This is a great turn in Britney’s case, her attorney, Mathew S. Rosengart, mentioned in a statement,

“This filing represents another legal victory for Britney Spears — a massive one — as well as vindication for Ms. Spears. It appears that Mr. Spears believes he can try to avoid accountability and justice, including sitting for a sworn deposition and answering other discovery under oath, but as we assess his filing (which was inappropriately sent to the media before it was served on counsel) we will also continue to explore all options.”

Jamie’s petition read,

“Mr. Spears believes that Ms. Spears is entitled to have this Court now seriously consider whether this conservatorship is no longer required, to such an extent that grounds for establishment of a conservatorship may no longer exist.

Barrymore commented,

“This is about her and her life and everybody deserves the freedom to make mistakes or a success of their life and everything in between. That is what a life is.” Barrymore told ET.

Earlier this year, while addressing the court, Britney expressed her wish to sue her family. Her words in the court were,

My dad and anyone involved in this conservatorship and my management who played a key role in punishing me — they should be in jail.”
