James Gunn and Peter Safran will assume the reins as co-CEOs of the newly formed firm, Warner Bros. Discovery just said. The corporation has been struggling to change the path of its DC Studios projects. Gunn and Safran have been working diligently on creating a slate to revitalize DC Studios, which implies that they will make some significant adjustments.

Gunn recently disclosed that he is developing a Superman movie that won’t feature Henry Cavill and would center on a younger version of the character. Although it won’t be an origin narrative, his Superman movie will follow a young Clark Kent as he visits Metropolis for the first time.

On his sudden departure from the job, Cavill issued a statement in which he said “I have just had a meeting with James Gunn and Peter Safran and it’s sad news, everyone. I will, after all, not be returning as Superman. After being told by the studio to announce my return back in October, prior to their hire, this news isn’t the easiest, but that’s life. The changing of the guard is something that happens. I respect that. James and Peter have a universe to build. I wish them and all involved with the new universe the best of luck, and the happiest of fortunes.”

One of the things that sets James Gunn apart from other filmmakers is his willingness to take risks and tell unconventional stories. His work on Guardians of the Galaxy, for example, featured a talking raccoon and a tree as main characters, and the films were praised for their offbeat sense of humor and clever storytelling. While Gunn is best known for his work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he actually has a long history with the DC Universe as well. He wrote the script for the 2004 film Dawn of the Dead, which was produced by Warner Bros. and based on the DC Comics/Vertigo series of the same name. Gunn has also written several episodes of the TV series Smallville, which focused on a young Clark Kent/Superman.

The fan art that has been circulating online (which you can see here) is also a big part of the excitement surrounding a potential James Gunn Superman project. The artwork shows a younger Clark Kent/Superman with a more modern look and feel, and it has generated a lot of positive buzz among fans.

One of the things that has fans excited about the prospect of James Gunn tackling Superman is the possibility that he could bring a fresh perspective to the character. Superman is an iconic and beloved character, but he has been portrayed on the big screen many times before, and there’s always room for new interpretations and approaches. Gunn’s unique style and storytelling sensibility could bring something fresh and exciting to the character.

The reason Why David Corenswet Should Be The DCU Superman is that Corenswet has demonstrated in prior performances that he possesses the charm required to successfully portray both Clark Kent’s endearing nerdiness and Superman’s boy scout demeanor. Superman will be closer to the beginning of his career, according to facts from Gunn’s Superman script that have reportedly surfaced. Gunn said on social media that Superman will have met other notable DC characters when he is next presented, thus the film won’t be an origin narrative. A starting point for the role that Corenswet would get to play would be Clark entering The Daily Planet as a reporter and getting his bearings with a young Lois Lane. Lili Reinhart, who has previously collaborated with Corenswet, might be a wonderful fit for a relaunch of Lois.

Corenswet, who is 29 years old, would be able to guide the DCU for the following ten years. One crucial factor in favor of this casting is the fact that Corenswet has expressed a desire to portray Superman. In several interviews, Corenswet has stated that playing Superman is his greatest dream. Corenswet would be the ideal option to return Clark to his lighter comic book beginnings after a period in which public opinion on the DCEU’s darker take on Superman wasn’t the best. If Gunn has Corenswet in mind while casting the new DC Universe, he may play the beloved Superman that fans are accustomed to.

Since Gunn and Safran took over as Co-CEOs of DC Studios last month, it is safe to say that the company’s future is looking promising. When the pair’s appointment was revealed by the new head of Warner Bros. Discovery, they issued a statement expressing their enthusiasm for the position in which they said, “We’re honored to be the stewards of these DC characters we’ve loved since we were children,” Gunn and Safran added in a joint statement. “We look forward to collaborating with the most talented writers, directors, and actors in the world to create an integrated, multilayered universe that still allows for the individual expression of the artists involved. Our commitment to Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Harley Quinn, and the rest of the DC stable of characters is only equaled by our commitment to the wonder of human possibility these characters represent. We’re excited to invigorate the theatrical experience around the world as we tell some of the biggest, most beautiful, and grandest stories ever told.
