Jack Harlow shares sneak peek of

Jack Harlow, the Grammy-nominated rapper, who is a nominee for three awards, is making his debut on the big screens as he unveiled the first glimpse of his upcoming movie, “White Men Can’t Jump” remake.

Harlow published the first ever video from the upcoming film without any caption via his official twitter account. In the clips shared, we meet the characters played by Harlow and co-star Sinqua Walls (in the Wesley Snipes role), who, regardless of their differences in personality and backgrounds, join together to earn some real money playing streetball.

The 30-second clip, which is set to Skee-Lo’s “I Wish” gives a glimpse of the lead characters’ fun and competitive banter, where they argue about their favorite movie director, Paul Thomas Anderson or Spike Lee, while playing basketball.

In the trailer, Harlow’s character, named Jeremy says: “I’m like the P. T. Anderson of basketball psychological warfare”, referring to Anderson as “our greatest living director.” “Spike Lee is our greatest living director,” Walls’ character, named Kamal, responds.

The movie is about “juggling tenuous relationships, financial pressures and serious internal struggles, the two ballers — opposites who are seemingly miles apart — find they might have more in common than they imagined possible.”

The upcoming comedy movie is a remake of the 1992 classic movie “White Men Can’t Jump”, that previously featured Wesley Snipes and Woody Harrelson as street basketball hustlers who teamed up for a big game, and it had been a popular box office success.

This movie is being produced by Kenya Barris through his company, Khalabo Ink Society, in collaboration with Paul Hall. Boston Celtics player Blake Griffin, Ryan Kalil, and Noah Weinstein from their label, Mortal Media, are serving as executive producers. The executive producers also include Calmatic, Doug Hall, and E. Brian Dobbins. The remake, written by “Black-ish” creator Kenya Barris and Doug Hall, is described as a “modern remix” of the original and features two new characters: Harlow’s Jeremy who is a “former star of the game whose injuries stalled his career,” and Walls’ Kamal, a “promising player who derailed his own future in the sport.”

Moving towards the cast, Harlow’s first foray into feature films is marked by “White Men Can’t Jump,” which signals his transition from being a hitmaker to an actor. Meanwhile, Walls is recognized for his performances in the Sundance horror hit “Nanny” from last year and the comedy series “American Soul.” The movie also features Teyana Taylor, Laura Harrier, Vince Staples, Myles Bullock, and Lance Reddick.

While talking about the efforts that Harlow had put in during his transition as an actor, he shared that, “I put the time in with the script. … I tried to be egoless during the audition, take notes, and do what I had to do. I just want to kill it. I just want to be good, and I want to do everything I can to make it good.”

The movie director Calmatic also praised him, saying: “He was very committed and got emotional for a scene and took it there, and then once we got on set, it was a wrap. His charm from being an artist leapt over to his acting side. I’m calling it now. I feel like 10 years from now, it’s going to be ‘Jack Harlow, the actor, who just happens to also be one of the best rappers in the game.’”

The remake of “White Men Can’t Jump” is scheduled to be released on Hulu on May 19. Here’s how you could watch the movie on Hulu if you are living outside the US.
