Hulu Brings More Mayhem with Hit-Monkey Season 2

3. Hulu Brings More Mayhem with Hit-Monkey Season 2

Hulu has given the green light to season two of “Hit-Monkey,” the critically acclaimed animated series that follows the adventures of a Japanese macaque turned assassin. The series, which has earned praise for its humor, action, and unique premise, has been renewed for another season, and fans couldn’t be more excited. After the massacre of the Hit-Monkey’s (Fred Tatasciore) tribe, the animal anti-hero teamed up with the ghost of hitman Bryce (Jason Sudeikis) to infiltrate the Yakuza and execute vengeance.

With the Marvel connection removed from the title, Hit-Monkey will return for another adventure in the Big Apple. The first season of the Marvel series, co-created and executive produced by Josh Gordon and Will Speck, premiered on November 1, 2021, with 10 episodes. An official video was uploaded to the Hit-Monkey Twitter account confirming the show’s second-season renewal.

Leslie Jones has been cast in an unspecified role on the show. The voice of Akiko, the brilliant and ambitious niece of the future prime minister, will be reprised by Olivia Munn. In contrast, Jason Sudeikis will reprise his role as Bryce, a world-weary assassin who has made terrible life choices. Fred Tatasciore, who plays Hit-Monkey, is back as the “killer of murderers,” and Ally Maki plays Haruka, an upstanding police officer from a tiny town. Fans can expect more of the same great performances they’ve come to love, along with some exciting new additions to the cast.

From blockbuster superhero movies like The Avengers to widely praised animated series like MODOK, one would wonder, “What can’t Marvel do?” Since Hulu is only available in the United States, there are certain ways to Watch Marvel’s Hit-Monkey Season 1 on Hulu if you don’t live in the United States.

“Hit-Monkey” has been a standout series on Hulu since its premiere, and the renewal for season two is a testament to its popularity and success. The show’s unique take on the assassin genre has set it apart from the crowd, and its blend of humor, action, and heart has made it a standout in the crowded field of animated series. With the renewal for season two, “Hit-Monkey” is set to continue its reign as one of the most entertaining and innovative animated series on television.

However, The MCU links are optional for the show’s adult audience appeal or its potential for renewal. Smaller characters, like the title monkey, were only briefly featured in Hit-Monkey’s first season, making the tale mostly self-contained regarding the larger Marvel world. Hit-Monkey’s Punisher easter egg is entertaining, but the tale might have worked just as well without the Marvel tie-in.

The show’s idea sells itself with its fresh spin on the typical “vengeance is sweet” story. Like the popular adult cartoon comedy Archer, Hit-Monkey starkly contrasts the superhero-themed episodes from Marvel. The assassin Bryce reminds me a lot of Sterling Archer, the spy, regarding speech, behavior, and sense of humor. There’s plenty of room for the irreverently violent Hit-Monkey now that Archer has aired for 13 seasons and is still going. Since Hit-Monkey never got to the Netflix Daredevil/Defenders universe semi-parody it had planned, cutting ties with Marvel was a breeze.

The deal between Hulu and Marvel Television included more than just the Hit-Monkey animated series. The first season of M.O.D.O.K. also premiered around the same time as Hit-Monkey, but it, along with Howard the Duck and Tigra & Dazzler, was canceled before it could air a single episode. Unlike Hit-Monkey, which had no real basis in the Marvel canon, M.O.D.O.K. had a significant presence in the MCU, which is probably why it was renewed for a second season.

The Offenders, a name taken from a Marvel Comics squad, was supposed to be an event series in which all four Hulu-Marvel animated shows would have crossover episodes. Hit-Monkey got a renewal for a second season because that disaster never came to pass, giving it more freedom from Marvel. Hit Monkey is on its way to becoming one of the best shows to watch on Hulu, and with season 2, things are about to get more interesting.
