In The Blink of an Eye, a film directed by Academy Award winner Andrew Stanton featuring an ensemble cast, including Kate McKinnon, Rashida Jones, and Daveed Diggs has commenced its primary shooting by British Columbia. Joining the previously announced ensemble is Jorge Vargas, Tanaya Beatty, and Skywalker Hughes.
The film explores hope, connection, and the endless cycle of life through three intertwining storylines that stretch thousands of years. Colby Day (Spaceman) scripted and executive produced the film, which is produced by Jared Ian Goldman (Ingrid Goes West, “Russian Doll”).
Stanton remarked, “From the first read, I knew Colby Day’s script was special, and it has only become more rarified of a project as our team has formed. What a privilege to have such an ideal cast and crew realize this beautiful story.”
The Searchlight Presidents Matthew Greenfield and David Greenbaum continued, “Andrew is a visionary artist whose unique gifts as a storyteller shine in this beautiful film.” “We are so proud to be collaborating with him and this extraordinary cast and crew,” they said.

Beatty is most widely recognized for her recurring part in the Kevin Costner-starrer Yellowstone, which has been nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award. She also appeared in God’s Country by Julian Higgins and Crimes of the Future by David Cronenberg.
Hughes alongside Keith Carradine and Jason Ritter, has appeared in the highly praised anthology series Accused and the film Joe Pickett. She also appeared as a guest character in the popular series Paw Patrol. The next time we’ll see her, she’ll be playing the protagonist in Ordinary Angels with Hilary Swank and Alan Ritchson.
Vargas, on the other hand, has made notable appearances in many well-regarded television shows, such as Snowpiercer, Billy the Kid, and Stargate SG-1.
Beatty is handled by The Characters Talent Agency and Neon Kite, Hughes by Innovative Artists and Noble Caplan Abrams while Vargas is managed by Kirk Talent Agencies.
In the Blink of an Eye is being managed by SVP of Production Taylor Friedman and Creative Executive Apolline Berty for Searchlight Pictures under the direction of Heads of Production and Development Katie Goodson-Thomas and DanTram Nguyen.
In addition to Stanton, the film’s editors Mollie Goldstein (Not Okay, Dickinson), costume designer Mirren Gordon-Crozier (Where the Crawdads Sing, Teen Spirit), director of photography Ole Bratt Birkeland (Judy, Ticket to Paradise), production designer Ola Maslik (The Skeleton Twins, “Madam Secretary”), and VFX Supervisor Jake Braver (Birdman, The Pale Blue Eyes) will all be working behind the camera.
