It has yet to be determined whether Streep will participate as a guest star, a recurring character, or a series regular.

The comedy-drama series follows Charles-Haden Savage (Steve Martin), Oliver Putnam (Martin Short), and Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez), who are neighbors in a building on the Upper West Side called the Arconia. They form a friendship over their shared interest in true crime podcasts and decide to start their show as mysterious murders occur around them. During the first season, they discovered that one of their fellow residents, Tim Kono (Julian Cihi), had been murdered. During the second season, they did the same thing for the building’s board president, Bunny Folger (Jayne Houdyshell), all while attempting to clear their own reputations. Tina Fey also has a starring role.

She has won three Emmys, three Oscars, and three Golden Globes for her work in shows such as “Sophie’s Choice,” “Out of Africa,” “Julie & Julia,” “The Devil Wears Prada,” “Mamma Mia!,” and many more. Streep is one of the most well-known actors in the world for her work in these films. Her most notable roles on television include those in the miniseries “Holocaust” (1978) and “Angels in America” (2003), as well as Season 2 of “Big Little Lies” on HBO.

She is also scheduled to appear in the upcoming anthology show “Extrapolations” alongside Tobey Maguire, Eliza Gonzalez, Edward Norton, Diane Lane, Murray Bartlett, Heather Graham, and Marion Cotillard. Through a series of intertwined narratives, “Extrapolations,” which was developed by Scott Z. Burns for AppleTV+, shows the many impacts that climate change may have.

As Season 3 gets underway, Charles, Oliver, and Mabel will continue investigating who murdered Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd). The conclusion of Season 2 was marked by Glenroy’s untimely death onstage when he was playing in a Broadway play opposite Charles and under Oliver’s direction.
