Mike Judge and Greg Daniels to Bring Back

Hulu has officially ordered a reboot of the beloved animated series “King of the Hill” with the original voice cast set to return. The show was created by Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, and ran for 13 seasons from 1997 to 2010. Interestingly, the series creator, Lee Daniels, has revealed that “the idea is a time jump, yeah, so the characters are a bit older.”

The series’ reboot was announced on January 31, 2023, and has been met with enthusiasm from fans of the show, who have been eagerly awaiting its return. It is sure to be a nostalgic and entertaining experience for fans of the show, as well as a chance for new viewers to discover the series for the first time. Here’s how you can watch the series on Hulu outside the US.

Hank Hill will once again be played by Judge, while Kathy Najimy, Stephen Root, Pamela Adlon, Johnny Hardwick, Dale, and Lauren Tom will all return to play their respective roles. The plan for the series’ reboot began to unfold when Judge and Daniels reconnected with the cast during The 2017 San Francisco Sketchfest to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the previous Fox animated series.

“King of the Hill” is set in the fictional town of Arlen, Texas, and follows the everyday lives of the Hill family and their friends and neighbors. It focuses on the life of Hank Hill, a zealous propane and accessory salesman, Peggy Hill, the town’s best player of Boggle and substitute teacher, and Bobby Hill, their 13-year-old son, who defies all expectations set by his father for a son. With the assistance of Peggy’s friends Minh and meteorologist Nancy (Ashley Gardner), as well as Bobby’s friend Connie (Tom), and Hank’s friends conspiracy theorist Dale, military barber Bill, and cool, but witless Boomhauer (Judge), the Hills are able to navigate a world that is constantly changing.

The show was known for its humor and relatable characters, and was praised for its accurate portrayal of small-town life in America. The Emmy-winning series has, therefore, been at the pinnacle of the most popular animated shows on Hulu.

This show has all of the perfect ingredients to meet this moment in animation at Hulu, and we’re so thankful to be having those conversations alongside this talented group.”

Furthermore, Marci Proietto, the executive vice president of the 20th Television Animation shared his thoughts saying, “I’m so lucky to have been a part of this show from the very beginning and couldn’t be more excited to visit Arlen, Texas, once again with Mike, Greg and Saladin, who together are bringing a whole new perspective to the original series. We all want to thank the fans for their overwhelming support because they helped make this happen, and I can’t wait to share this new iteration through the lens of 2023 America. In the words of our beloved Peggy Hill, Ho yeah!”
