‘Reboot’ Cancellation: Rachel Bloom Opens Up About the Shocking News

2. ‘Reboot’ Cancellation: Rachel Bloom Opens Up About the Unexpected News

Rachel Bloom is no stranger to the highs and lows that the entertainment industry can bring. She has encountered critical praise and disappointment in her role as the lead and co-creator of the hit television series “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,”  And now, with the news that her most recent project, titled “Reboot,” has been canceled, she is again confronted with the entertainment business’s problems.

Rachel Bloom was candid about the recent announcement that her show Reboot will be canceled after its first season at the premiere of the new Netflix romantic comedy, “Your Place or Mine,”.

“The writing was on the wall for a little time because we weren’t hearing anything,” she told one of the media outlets,I’m confused, and people seemed to be watching it in my world. They don’t release numbers, so I’m unsure how metrics work.”

She continued, “I’m hoping we can sell it to a new place. I think it’s a fantastic show. I said from the beginning if I saw this show, I would want to be on it, and I’d be jealous of anyone who was on it. So, I still can’t believe that I got to be on it, that I get to be on it. The cast is so fucking fantastic. I don’t know, and I don’t understand the market.”

As Bloom pointed out, the decision to discontinue the show comes when a significant number of shows all around the business are being canceled. She said, “Nothing’s straightforward anymore. Everyone is kind of sad and confused at the moment in general in Hollywood.”  This is especially true for television series that are being taken off streaming sites entirely to reduce operating expenses.

“The taking off platforms is just a nightmare. You at least can tell yourself, ‘Oh it’ll be on there in perpetuity.’ No no no. Now, what are we doing? Theater?” Bloom questioned. “If I wanted to do theater, I’d do theater, and even that you can go to Lincoln Center and watch any Broadway play from the last 50 years. So I guess maybe they’ll be available for streaming in the Lincoln Center library? So check out Reboot at the Lincoln Center library, I guess.”

The well-known actor and comedian Johnny Knoxville was recently shocked by the news that Hulu has decided to cancel his show, “Reboot,” after it only aired for a single season. Johnny expressed his disappointed feelings by posting them on Instagram with the caption, “It’s with a heavy heart that I say, despite getting great reviews and being nominated for a Critics Choice Award, @hulu has failed to pick up Reboot even for a second season. Pretty unbelievable.”
