Daniel Ricciardo’s F1 Docuseries Heads to Hulu with ‘Full Steam Ahead’

Daniel Ricciardo

Australian Formula 1 driver, Daniel Ricciardo, is collaborating with Hulu to create a half-hour scripted series about his life and career. Ricciardo also confirmed that the series is moving “full steam ahead.

The logline details of the project are being kept under wraps. Although Ricciardo remains tight-lipped about the script, he recently revealed that casting will begin “pretty soon.

Ricciardo’s impressive track record of eight Grand Prix victories is sure to draw significant interest from both his fans and Formula One enthusiasts. He expressed excitement about the show, explaining that he’s enjoying having more time for his off-track endeavors while prioritizing his interests this year.

During the [F1] season, I can’t even necessarily keep up with everything else going on, so having the chance to prioritize things has been really important for me this year,” he said.

Last summer, McLaren Racing terminated Ricciardo’s contract prematurely, and he was unable to secure a seat with any team on the 2023 F1 grid. However, as mentioned earlier, Red Bull Racing soon hired him for the championship-winning team.

Ricciardo’s show on Hulu has allowed him to devote more time to his show and wine brand, DR3 x St Hugo. He said, “Moving forward—if I do get back on the grid next year—I think I’ll have a clearer idea of how I want to go racing.” However, he did not provide any further information about the project.

ABC Signature, Lionsgate Television, and Temple Hill’s Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey, Phoebe Zimmer, and Sydney Title are producing the series. Ricciardo, who currently serves as Red Bull Racing’s reserve driver, will also serve as executive producer of the series.
