The shows official Instagram account announced her diagnosis,

“While continuing her health evaluations, Wendy has tested positive for a breakthrough case of COVID-19. The Wendy Williams show is distributed and produced by Debmar-Mercury, and Fox Television Stations successfully renewed it through the 2021-2022 season.

As per Tommy Williams, Wendy’s brother, she is in a stable condition and is bravely battling Covid-19 along with her ongoing health problems. Tommy updated the media with this news a week after Wendy voluntarily got admitted to a hospital in New York for psychiatric evaluation.

Tommy said on his YouTube channel,

“I really do believe and have the faith that Wendy’s going to make it. It’s not an easy fight, it’s not one that individuals always win. It’s not easy. She’s doing well. She’s stable and I’ve spoken with her… she’s hanging in there. We’re praying, she’s fighting.”

Commenting on Wendy’s health evaluations, her brother claimed that she was not vaccinated. Wendy revealed on her show that she was uncomfortable with getting the vaccine shot. However, a source related to Yahoo Entertainment says that she is fully vaccinated. Tommy also said that,

“Wendy is a powerful person, very committed to her stance and always has been.”

He further mentioned the discussion with Wendy, where he was concerned about health, given that her preconditions could leave her in a vulnerable state. She was diagnosed with Graves’ disease in 1999, which is an immune system disorder that causes the thyroid to become overactive.

The Wendy Williams Show’s Season 13 was to be premiered on October 4th, but due to her health conditions, it has been delayed till she recovers. Wendy is powerful because even during the lockdown, she broadcasted her show from her apartment.

She has taken this time off to focus on her health because there have been incidents in the past where her health and personal struggles played out in public. For example, in 2017, she passed out on live TV during a special Halloween episode; however, it was speculated that the incident took place due to dehydration.
