Our favorite nepo baby has made it big!

The story of “The Lion King” continues with Blue Ivy Carter starring in the new movie, just like her mom, Beyoncé, did before. Disney just released the first trailer for “Mufasa: The Lion King” on April 29.

Both Beyoncé and Blue Ivy voice characters in this prequel about King Mufasa’s early life. They fittingly play a mother and daughter in the movie. Beyoncé was the voice of Nala in the 2019 remake, and several actors from that film are back for this new movie, which comes out on December 20.

The trailer shows scenes from cold, icy places and warm, grassy savannahs.

Rafiki says in the trailer:

“This story begins far beyond the mountains and the shadows on the other side of the light. A lion was born without a drop of nobility in his blood, a lion who would change our lives forever: Mufasa.

In the new movie, Beyoncé will voice Nala again, who is Simba’s partner in the original Disney movie. This time, Blue Ivy will play their daughter, also named Nala.

“Mufasa: The Lion King” is Blue Ivy’s first acting role where she isn’t just playing herself. She has already appeared in several documentaries with her mother, Beyoncé.

People got to see more of Blue Ivy in “Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé,” a mix of concert film and documentary about Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour in 2022. Blue Ivy joined her mother at several concerts, and the film includes a special part that shows how Blue Ivy prepared to perform.

At just 12 years old, Blue Ivy has already achieved remarkable success. She featured on the Hot 100 hit “Brown Skin Girl” with her mother. The song’s music video helped them win a Grammy, making Blue Ivy one of the youngest Grammy winners in history.

Many of the voice actors from “The Lion King” are also returning for this new installment, including Seth Rogen and Billy Eichner. Alongside Beyoncé and Blue Ivy, other well-known actors like Donald Glover and Thandiwe Newton will also be lending their voices.

Beyoncé, Glover, Eichner, and Rogen will reprise their roles as Nala, Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa, respectively. Blue Ivy is cast as Kiara, the daughter of King Simba and Queen Nala.

And it’s sure to have some lovely music as Lin-Manuel Miranda is writing the songs, which will be produced by himself and Disney legend Mark Mancina.
