South Korean Artist Boichi of Dr. Stone Fame Shares First Look at New Manga

Dr Stone is preparing for a new season, and as you can expect, all eyes are on the shonen ahead of his return. It won’t be long before Dr. Stone season 3 premieres in the spring, and one of the manga’s creators is planning something special to commemorate the occasion. The artist Boichi is working on a new manga, and we’ve just gotten our first glimpse at the anatomical series.

The preview hit social media just recently as Boichi’s ad for Jintai Rescue Tankentai: Visceris Voyage went live.

Manga Mogura RE tweeted a poster of the new series from their official account saying: “Boichi (Dr. Stone, Sun Ken Rock) starts a new anatomy-focused manga series titled “Jintai Rescue Tankentai – Visceris Voyage” in new educational manga magazine Bentame Jump Spring 2023 out April 1.

A boy & an Alien have an adventure inside a human body”

The poster shows a young man in a high-tech outfit who appears surprised, as seen by his heated face. Boichi’s new series appears to follow this little child and an alien on a journey within a human body. If you’ve watched Osmosis Jones or the Magic School Bus, you’ll recognise this notion.

Visceris Voyage is set to premiere next month through Shueisha. This is yet another project for Boichi’s portfolio. After all, the artist has contributed to a variety of Japanese and South Korean titles such as Sun-Ken Rock, One Piece Episode A, TOON, and others. Recently, manga readers have seen Boichi work on He Was There.

For those unfamiliar with Boichi, the artist is from South Korea and began his career in manhwa before going to Japan. Boichi made his artistic debut in 1993, while pursuing his graduate degree. He debuted with manga in 2004 and found popularity with Sun-Ken Rock two years later. Nonetheless, the artist is most recognised for his collaboration with writer Riichiro Inagaki on Dr. Stone. The shonen series started in March 2017 and ended five years later.
