According to multiple outlets reports, Nicki Minaj’s husband has been sentenced for failing to register as a sex offender. It is also reported that Kenneth Petty has been given three years probation and a year of in-home detention.

According to CBS News, Petty, 44, was sentenced on Wednesday after admitting guilt to the federal felony last year. Based on filling from the U.S, Attorney’s Office reports; he was also forced to pay a $55,000 fine as part of his sentence, which also includes three years on probation and a year of in-home detention.

Petty was arrested in March 2020 after failing to register as a sex offender in California in November 2019, withdrawing his initial not-guilty plea.

Prior to dating Minaj, 39, he was convicted of attempting to rape a 16-year-old girl in 1994. He was required by law to register as a sex offender in New York, which he did not abide by. Petty left the state in October 2019, the same year he wedded Minaj.

He was once again arrested, earlier this year, after he was stopped by police in Beverly Hills and charged with lewd acts with a child. Likewise, Rapper Fetty Wap was also arrested by the FBI on Federal drug charges months after daughter’s death.

It was previously mentioned, that Petty signed up with the California Megan’s Law database in March 2020., which kept an eye on local sex offenders in California.

Recently, Los Angeles District Attorney’s office has dropped the charges against petty for failing to register as a sex offender because he still faces the same charges from the Department of Justice. It is a strict requirement by the 2006 Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act (SORNA) to get registered as a sex offender immediately, once you are convicted and ordered to do so.

The New York State agency now rates him as a level-two sex offender with a moderate likelihood of committing a repeat offense.

Jennifer Hough, the 16-year-old alleged victim of Petty’s rape in 1994, spoke up about the alleged attack in a September 2021 interview on “The Real.”

Hough reported that Petty confronted her at a bus stop, threatened her with a knife, and then took her to a house where the alleged incident occurred.

“I knew what he wanted,” Hough alleged. “He pushed me down on the bed, we wrestled for my clothes.”

After that, Hough apparently made her way back to the school, and when security officials heard her side of the story, Petty was immediately arrested that day.

Last year, Jennifer Hough, the 16-year-old victim of Petty’s attempted rape, filed a lawsuit against Minaj and Petty last year, charging them with “witness intimidation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligent infliction of emotional distress, harassment, assault, battery, sexual assault, and sexual harassment.”

Minaj has frequently been by Petty’s side and protected him. In 2018, she responded angrily to individuals who kept criticizing Petty’s criminal record in the past. Minaj wrote on Instagram about the event, “He was 15, she was 16 … in a relationship. But go awf, [sic] internet, y’all can’t run my life. y’all can’t even run y’all own life.”

And in an episode of the 2019 Queen Radio show that aired on Apple Music, Minaj said to her fans, “You’ve gotta cover your husband in prayer” before claiming that he was falsely charged.
