Ryan Reynolds Trolled by Blake On Taking A ‘Sabbatical’

Take a deep breath; there’s sad news for Ryan Reynolds fans. The star just recently announced on Instagram that he will be taking a break after completing his movie, Spirited.

“That’s a wrap for me on Spirited. Not sure I’d have been ready to say yes to a film this challenging even three years ago. Singing, dancing, and playing in the sandbox with Will Ferrell made a whole lotta dreams come true. And this is my second film with the great @octaviaspencer…Perfect time for a little sabbatical from movie making.”

Followers supported the decision, while co-star Octavia Spencer commented, “You’re an amazing actor/singer and producer. I had a blast working with you, Will, and this outstanding cast and crew! Enjoy your downtime.”

Reynold, notably known for his Deadpool role, used Instagram on Saturday to share the news that after wrapping up his current project, he will be taking a sabbatical. The 44-year-old actor captioned the Instagram post, writing, “Perfect time for a little sabbatical from movie-making,” he wrote. I’m gonna miss every second working with this obscenely gifted group of creators and artists. These days, kindness matters as much as talent. I’ve been lucky to work with folks who are flush with both.”

Teasing her husband, Reynolds witty wife, Blake Lively commented, “Michael Caine did it first.” She was making a reference to Caine, who is a veteran actor, aged 88 was recently thought to be retiring. But he isn’t. Caine went viral over the weekend when he seemingly confirmed that his new movie “Best Sellers” would be his last picture during an interview on the BBC Radio show Kermode and Mayo. He said,

“I think it would be, yeah. There haven’t been any offers, obviously, for two years. Because nobody’s been making any movies I’d want to do. But also, I’m 88. There’s not exactly scripts pouring out where the leading man is 88.”

He’s also taking a break only. The actor himself made it clear to everyone that he was nowhere near retiring. In a statement to Fox News, Caine said, “Regarding retirement, I’ve spent over 50 years getting up at 6 am to make movies, and I’m not getting rid of my alarm clock!”

The comments section was filled in by other popular entertainers as well, such as Hugh Jackman, Ava DuVernay, and co-star Octavia Spencer.

Spencer commented

“You’re an amazing actor/singer and producer. I had a blast working with you, Will, and this outstanding cast and crew! Enjoy your downtime.”

The reasons for Reynolds taking a break from film production are not known. But if you are wondering what’s he going to do to put the food on the table, it’s no surprise; the star has an incredibly successful liquor brand, “American Aviation Gin.”

For Reynolds and Blake, nothing comes before family, and the couple has shown it on various occasions. Back in 2019, Reynolds told the People,

“Blake and I don’t do movies at the same time. If she is doing a movie in Thailand and I am doing a movie in Vancouver we would just never see each other. We operate as a unit, and that works really well for us. The kids stay with us, and the family stays together, and that is where home is. So, if we are in Spain or Utah or New York, as long as we are together, we’re home.”

Recently Reynold and Blake celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary; even at that time, the playfulness of the couple could be easily seen, both trolling and teasing each other. The Deadpool actor captioned the post at their anniversary dinner, “Our favourite restaurant with her 4th favourite date.”

And then teased her by writing, “Posting this again because I cut out my wife’s cute earrings. She trained me better than this. Sorry if I let anyone down,”

Opening up about their relationship, Reynolds revealed on the SmartLess podcast, “We were friends and buddies, and about a year and a half later we went on a double date, but we were dating separate people.”

Further adding up, he told, “Next thing you know, she was going to Boston, I was going to Boston and I said, ‘Well, I’ll ride with you.’ We got on the train and we rode together.” Reynolds said, adding, “I was just begging her to sleep with me.”

They got married in September 2012 and now have three daughters, James, 6, Inez, 5, and two-year-old Betty.

“A sabbatical can last anywhere from two months to a year. In general, six months is the standard length of time for a paid sabbatical. It gives you enough time and flexibility to do things such as travel, study or complete a major side project.” Reynolds stated.
