The eagerly-awaited final season of Stranger Things is now underway. Stranger Things fans will be super-excited to know that the Citizens of Hawkins are getting closer to their last and decisive battle with the forces of Upside Down. The “Stranger Things” writers officially confirmed that they have now begun working on the script for the fifth and the final season of the hit Netflix series.

The official Twitter account for the show’s writers’ room, @StrangerWriters announced their return to work on Tuesday, August 2 with the tweet “Day 1.”

The Twitter account shared an image of a whiteboard with a colorful drawing of the logo for the final season, although it didn’t reveal much information about the coming season. We do however know that Stranger Things fans always show extreme excitement when official teasers or trailers are shown. Just like when they released the poster teasing the epic final battle between Eleven facing off against the evil Vecna, this simple logo drawing has also created quite a wave on Twitter.

Stranger Things Season 4, the latest installment of the epic sci-fi series by Matt and Ross Duffer, ended on a major cliffhanger, with the main villain Venca (Jamie Campbell Bower) defeated temporarily. Season 5 will presumably have Vecna return and use his powers to combine the sleepy Indiana town of Hawkins with the creepy and life-threatening otherworld of the Upside Down.
