I was able to watch YouTube TV in Denmark without VPN. Instead of having a Macbook connect to the hotel WiFi network, I connected to my US iphone personal hotspot. YouTube TV could not be watched directly on the iPhone App. I had to use the cell phone hotspot to make this work on my Macbook. The above is obviously not a solution for ‘aliens without a US cellphone’ but maybe a useful workaround for occasional US travelers.
