Johnny Depp is ‘broken’ after end of defamation case by ex-wife Amber Heard

The Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp has been in hot water since 2016 when ex-wife Amber Heard sued him for domestic abuse. The actor’s testimony on Monday revealed how ‘broken’ he felt from the entire experience. This stems from not just the disturbing reputation but the kind of experiences he brings from home.

Depp’s fourth day in Virginia court was concluded with an audio-recorded conversation between the two former lovers. Shortly after that conversation, Amber Heard filed for a restraining order against her allegedly abusive husband. Here, we’ll take you through the ending moments of the trial.

The audio shared had some level of audience that Depp had thrown and put a half-lit cigarette out on her. The actor denied the allegation even though the courtroom heard Put you f***ing cigarettes out on someone else”. She further yelled in the audio, You f***ing have consequences for your actions

Depp responded Shut up, fat ass in recording and denied that he had intentionally done so. He did say it was a possibility for cigarette ashes to have been flicked in her general direction. He says “There’s no way under the sun I would flick a cigarette at her or burn her,” he said. “That’s ludicrous.”

The famed actor felt ‘betrayed’ by how Disney Studios cut ties with him amidst the allegations. He was set to return to the infamous billion-dollar franchise Pirates of the Caribbean but he testified his exit from any future involvement last week. Depp shared, there was a deep and distinct sense of feeling betrayed by the people that I’ve worked hard for“.

He further added, (Captain Jack Sparrow) was a character that I had built from the ground up. I didn’t quite understand how after that long relationship and quite a successful relationship with Disney that… suddenly, I was guilty until proven innocent.”

On the topic of films and franchises, Depp’s legal team questioned him about his other film franchises. He mentioned Alice in Wonderland and had a certain level of trepidation before recalling others like Fantastic Beasts. He explained his reason for poor memory is that he doesn’t watch his features. He shares, I don’t watch them. I feel better not watching them. What was the question again?”.

This comment enlightened a small laugh in the courtroom, despite being part of such a difficult topic. Judge Penney Azcarate issued a clear warning to stop. It was then that Heard shared how she “despised” her ex-husband’s friendship with Paul Bettany. Paul, according to her, was a ‘Threat’ to their relationship. Depp’s lawyer revisited the text chain with his former costar and Depp accused her of making Bettany’s teenage son cry.

“Ms. Heard despised Mr. Bettany mainly because we had become such close friends,” Depp testified. “For her, he was a threat and would take me away from her. If Paul Bettany were getting the attention from me, that was a showstopper. It would cause all kinds of unpleasantries.” He further shared, “We were on the island with Mr. Bettany, his wife, and his four children. Ms. Heard and Mr. Bettany got into some debate over lunch and I just remember that whenever Mr. Bettany tried to make a point, she would talk over him. It got quite rude. She got mean and she got loud. And then his 18-year-old boy, he entered the conversation. [The topic] was something he studied in school. He knew all about it and voiced his opinion and Ms. Heard demeaned that young man to the point where he burst into tears and walked away. It was at that point that I had spoken to Ms. Heard and said, ‘That behavior is unacceptable. You have no right to demean that boy. You cannot always be right. You should try being wrong sometime.’ I thought it was best that she leave the island.”

Heard yelled in frustration in the audio about how Depp had abused her and tried to confront her. She says in the audio, “It takes you 20 seconds at most to go, ‘F— that. I hate you. I don’t want to be with you.’ If you don’t want to be with me in life then you need to actually do it and forget that five hours ago, you said the opposite… Does that seem normal to you? You told me that you couldn’t imagine your life without me and now you’re throwing your ring on the floor. Does that seem normal to you?” Depp expressed how he “wanted out” of the relationship sooner but she “wouldn’t let me leave”.

Fans on Twitter commented on comments of the audio, especially the part where Amber Heard confirmed cutting Johnny Depp’s finger. Tweets rose in favor of the actor’s condition and sparked an underlying topic of feminine toxicity. @this_safe_place tweeted:

Depp was heard shouting in anger that he’d go to court to settle this matter and that “the abuse thing” goes two ways. Heard yells, Tell the world, Johnny, Tell them, ‘I, Johnny Depp, a man, I’m a victim too of domestic violence,’ and see how many people believe or side with you.”. His lawyer asked him in a final question whether he was “a victim of domestic violence” to which he responded “Yes”.

I was broken, really at the end, couldn’t take it anymore,” Depp confessed to the court. The six-week trial has devastated the actor. After accusations, broken friendship ties, and loss of upcoming franchise opportunities, he now awaits another day in court. Reports share a new witness will take the stand remotely.
