Hulu’s popular crime-comedy series, “Only Murders in the Building,” has officially announced its Season 3, starring Meryl Streep. The inclusion of the three-time Oscar winner in the show has made the fans excited and curious about what’s to come next.

Meryl Streep’s part is still being kept under wraps, but the 30-second teaser showed her character as a “surprise you never saw coming,” as the camera pans to her stumbling over a line during what appears to be a table read. “Oh my god, it’s me!” In between anxious laughter fits, Streep speaks, “Oh, I’m so sorry. It’s me, isn’t it.” The teaser was broadcasted during the Oscars. Here’s how you could watch the Oscars 2023 on Hulu outside the US.

In January, the announcement of Streep’s casting in a recurring role was made via an Instagram video shared through Gomez’s account. Together with Gomez, Streep is accompanied by Paul Rudd, Andrea Martin, Steve Martin, and Martin Short in the video.

At the Writers Guild Awards, co-creator and showrunner John Hoffman said that while he was drafting Streep’s role, “she was the dream” casting choice. He also shared that, “It’s this domino effect of wonderful experiences, and she is everything anyone has ever said about working with her. It’s really a hell of a time on our set right now”. To further add, after writing the character, Streep “reached out to her friends Steve and Marty” regarding joining the series.

In the teaser, Paul Rudd, who previously made a cameo appearance in the season two finale also made an appearance and he will have a regular role in season three. Further joining the cast are Ashley Park from Emily in Paris and Grey’s Anatomy star Jesse Williams. Oliver (Short), Charles (Martin), and Mabel (Gomez) will all be involved in another murder during the third season of the show and will be podcasting about it. Further facts are currently being kept under wraps by Hulu.

The story of “Only Murders in the Building” centers on three strangers named Charles, Oliver, and Mabel, who are drawn together by their shared interest in real crime cases. The trio set out with their detailed knowledge of true crime on a mission to uncover the perpetrator and ultimately untangle the truth after a mysterious death occurs within their prestigious Upper West Side apartment building. The three reveal the intricate secrets of the building that date back years as they document the case by recording their own podcast.

Season 3 begins as the group tries to identify Ben Glenroy’s killer (Paul Rudd). Glenroy died onstage while appearing in a Broadway play opposite Charles in the Season 2 finale, which aired in August of last year.
