Only Murders in the Building Season 3 to Feature Jeremy Shamos, Linda Emond & Wesley Taylor

"Only Murders in the Building" season 3 to feature Jeremy Shamos, Linda Emond & Wesley Taylor in recurring roles

Broadway’s best actors are set to join the cast of Hulu’s hit series “Only Murders in the Building” for its highly anticipated third season. The streaming platform announced that Jeremy Shamos, Linda Emond, and Wesley Taylor will be featured in recurring roles, alongside series stars Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez.

While details about the new characters and their roles are being kept a secret, it’s clear that the third season is set to be the biggest yet, with an impressive roster of new actors joining the show. To further add, Broadway alums Meryl Streep, Jesse Williams, Ashley Park, Vanessa Aspillaga, Adina Verson, Ryan Broussard, and Andrea Martin are all set to make appearances in the upcoming season.

The humorous murder-mystery series centers on three strangers (Martin, Short, and Gomez) who, having a shared passion with true crime, unexpectedly become involved in one. The trio assisted in the investigation of two murders that took place inside the Arconia, the upscale apartment complex where they lived in Seasons 1 and 2.

Season 3 will put the ease of home behind as it investigates the most recent homicide, that of Ben Glenroy (Rudd), the lead actor in Oliver Putnam’s (Short) Broadway production. He is seen passing away on stage just as the curtain rises to announce the start of the performance. According to the series co-creator John Hoffman, who spoke about the Season 2 finale, Ben had a bizarre conversation with Charles-Haden Savage (Martin) just seconds earlier to the on-stage fall. The short talk was said to be kept vague to maintain the suspense.

“Only Murders in the Building” is a show produced by 20th Television, with co-creators and writers Steve Martin and John Hoffman leading the way. Martin Short and Selena Gomez are executive producers for the show, along with “This Is Us” creator Dan Fogelman and Jess Rosenthal. The team of executive producers brings together a wealth of experience from various areas of the entertainment industry.

Jeremy Shamos, a Tony nominee, is set to appear in multiple TV series, alongside the comic murder mystery. His latest shows include the upcoming season of HBO’s The Gilded Age and Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale. He will also recur in Amazon’s Dead Ringers. Shamos’s impressive film and TV credits include Better Call Saul, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, and Birdman, among others. He is represented by Talent Works and D 2 Management.

Similarly, Linda Emond, also a three-time Tony nominee, has acted in Death of a Salesman opposite Philip Seymour Hoffman, directed by Mike Nichols. Recently, Emond starred in FX’s The Patient alongside Steve Carell, Causeway opposite Jennifer Lawrence, and HBO’s Succession. She will soon appear in the Hulu series Death and Other Details. Emond is represented by CAA.

Likewise, Wesley Taylor, best known for his work on Broadway and TV, originated the roles of Sheldon Plankton in SpongeBob SquarePants: The Musical, Lucas in The Addams Family, and Franz in Rock of Ages. His TV credits include guest appearances in Hulu’s Difficult People, CBS’s The Good Wife, and NBC’s Smash. Taylor also co-created and starred in the web-comedy Indoor Boys. Recently, he co-wrote and co-directed Summoning Sylvia, which is set to premiere on March 31 in theaters and VOD. He is represented by Innovative Artists and Anonymous Content.
